Being on the run from monsters was not something Nico had been expecting to do in his life. For all his love for Mythomagik, Nico had never believed the cards to be based on real life events. Who would ever expect myths to be real? It was madness! Yet here he was running away from the Lotus Hotel and Casino, after having been trapped in there for about seventy years. Nico had not believed that until he stepped outside of the hotel and saw how much civilization had changed. It was so loud and colorful, so chaotic!
What made everything worse was the fact that Nico was following four ghosts. Yes, you heard him right. Four ghosts! Not only myths were real, but so were ghosts! Nico was sure he was losing his mind.

Percy survived his first year at Camp Half-Blood, and made many friends along the way, though one tried to kill him at the end of the summer.
Now he needs to brave the realities of undersea politics, handle a custody dispute, and deal with land school all at the same time. Camp's barriers weakening after the winter solstice and a new activities director being pulled in did not make his summer session any calmer.
Why can't he just have one normal year on land? Makes him wish for Kym's storm-making lessons.

Not Meg, that’s for sure.

Toward the beginning of 'The Tyrant's Tomb,' Lester!Apollo launches into an epic recap/eulogy ballad that is not written out IN the book (because it IS, basically, all recap), but is described in such a way that I, a writer but not a poet, said, "That would be fun to write out properly!"
Says I. A non-poet. About a ballad written by the God of Poetry.
But, after a year of chipping away at it, I finally have something ostensibly complete, so please applaud my efforts.

Nico knows he should have died a hundred years ago, when Gaea rose and destroyed the kingdom. And yet, he’s still alive and now tasked to carry the burden of a quest that should have been completed a century ago. But the problem is – Nico can’t remember anything except his own name.
Apollo pointed out into the distance, where Nico could see the dark mass swirling around castle. “My son, Will, is fighting alone against Gaea,” he said. When Nico turned back to look at him, he could see the regret and pain of a dead man written across his features, and Nico had to swallow something down at the mention of the prince’s name: a gurgling of painful feelings that were unfamiliar to him. He looked at the ruined castle again, surrounded by cheerful green meadows, and suddenly, he felt very, very alone.

Amphitrite's circlet has been stolen and Percy needs to get it back. It isn't just an ordinary piece of jewelry. It's the key to the dungeon that holds the Kraken. Percy will stop at nothing to find the man that stole it. She doesn't need another war on her hands.
If along the way she finds herself growing closer to Triton, well she'll just count it as a plus. Amphitrite and her father on the other hand... perhaps they've grown a bit too close.
