Light from the kitchen filtered out into the living room, allowing both Shuichi and Kokichi to see that it wasn’t in a much better state. It was arguably worse. If the kitchen table was full of garbage, the living room floor was covered in it, as if once the trashcan became too full and the table too cluttered, this was the next best place for it all. And sleeping on the floor amongst all this trash was their target in question.
