Summary
When the Earth is attacked by an unknown alien threat, for decades they take the fight on their soil, eventually they decide to take the fight to everyone else.
Arcturus is the name of the missions of sending Mechs and their Pilots into space to fight the aliens trying to destroy humanity, Arcturus One is consisting of four pilots; Hound, Breakdown, Sunstreaker and Sideswipe. Their mission? Find the alien homeworld and blow it to pieces.
It wouldn’t hurt to recover a previously lost mech either, if it was taken for study by the aliens.

"Beautiful."
The slightly grey spark that had only been bared for Jazz whirred within its casing, surrounded by a faint black shimmer that twisted in and out of sight. The inner casing opened when a clawed digit caressed the smooth glass, tendrils reaching out to the familiar touch as a shiver wracked Prowl's frame. He could have spent forever looking at that familiar spark, but they had been parted for too long, so regretfully, he pulled back, purring when the tactician above him let out a soft click. The room around them fell away when Prowl crouched over Jazz, white and silver sparks reaching out for each other faster than either bot would ever care to admit, merging into each other faster than a human heartbeat.

"No, I'm alright." The bigger mech shrugged at the question with a soft smile, setting his cube down to extend his servo. "I'm Hound, it's nice to meet you...?"
"...Mirage." Mirage's smaller servo slips into his as he gives a short but firm handshake, pulling away after a moment. "I do not often have company, may I ask why you are here?"
"You seemed lonely." Optics cycle in surprise at the simple response, and Hound finds his spark ache a little bit at the evident surprise. "So, I figured I would come say hello, keep you company."
"For what reason?" A slight frown crosses Mirage's face, waiting for some unspoken punchline. "A dare?"
"Nope, just giving a lonely mech some company." Hound keeps the smile on his face and a content feeling in his EMF field, saying nothing when he feels Mirage brush his own field against his before drawing it up and into his armor.

The world as Autobots and Decepticons know it is about to be turned upside down. A pod is discovered at an archaeological dig somewhere in Oregon. Prowl, Sideswipe, WheelJack and Perceptor are sent to investigate it, as humans at the time are convinced that it's Cybertronian technology, as carbon dating put it's landing point to be somewhere around the same time the Ark crashed millions of years ago. Upon actual inspection, the Autobots present concur that it is not, in any way, cybertronian. Prowl determines that its better in the Ark, rather then left alone for Decepticon's to find. So, it's hooked up to a reluctant Sideswipe and towed it back to the ark. Leaving it in the 'tender and loving care' of Perceptor, Skyfire, and Wheeljack. The contents, and the events that follow, are not anything any of them expected.
