Summary
General Marcus Acacius has been in the lives of Emperor Caracalla and Emperor Geta since they were teenagers. He has taught them how to fight and how to wage war, taking them under his wing.
It wasn’t long before both boys were obsessed with the General. For Caracalla, it was hero worship.
For Geta, it was love. And love, as so many of us know, is a step away from hate.

Even in his frenzied state, as they struggled over control of the knife, Geta’s pleading words began to break through the fog of Caracalla’s madness. Geta held tight to the knife as he tried to push it forward, the wicked edge aiming right for his brother’s eyes. They were so like their mother’s eyes that Caracalla was momentarily arrested, his grip on the knife slackening.
