At age fifteen, Prince Dion rises as Bahamut and falls in the same battle. The terms for the empire's survival are clear: wed the Dominants of Light and Dark so that their heir may one day lead humanity. Two years later, that very heir is born and things proceed unfaltering toward the dark from there.

"Y.O.R. 873. Drake's Head is destroyed. 40,000 are killed and Cid the Outlaw becomes the most wanted man in the Twins.
Y.O.R. 874. Sanbreque invades the free state of Twinside, ostensibly to avoid famine.
What followed was a short but horrific conflict; the collapse of Sanbreque's food chain prevented at the cost of far worse consequences that we are still suffering from four years later.
At the behest of Crown Prince Dion Lesage, this text is an attempt to document this conflict, and our mistakes within it, so that we may learn from them."

Summary
AU where Phoenix Gate occurs, but Anabella takes both Joshua and Jill to Oriflamme in the aftermath of Rosaria's downfall and Elwin Rosfield's death. Clive is a slave and Imperial assassin. He is unexpectedly reunited with his childhood love which triggers a series of events that will determine the fate of every country and person on Storm.
Everything turns on whether Clive's anger and pain will lead him to rise to the remarkable heights he was born to reach or fall into the darkness that has engulfed him. Can the Dominants of Ice and Fire can find each other again amidst the pain and sorrow they've lived through due to Anabella's machinations?
No Ultima, Blight or Curse in this.

Valisthea is dying.
While kings and countries vie for dwindling resources, the Bearers who make up a small portion of the population live and die by the whims of their owners. Clive, a Bearer slave born in Rosaria, couldn’t care less about the political machinations happening around him: the fall of his home country, the political alliances of Dominants, or the wars between nations. He cares about one thing – the freedom network known as the Road which aims to save as many Bearers as possible.
Unfortunately, it’s never that simple.
Or, Clive is born a Bearer. This changes some things and doesn’t change others.
Afterall, Ultima is still out there waiting on their Mythos.
