Balloon and Knife have been growing closer. Knife giving Balloon advice on how to sway the Hotel residents to finally see he's not who he was in season 1, and Balloon offering a place where Knife can let his guard down and just enjoy another's presence. After a late-night encounter, Knife decides to let Balloon sleep in his room to help keep his mind off everyone in the hotel. Balloon lets his impulsiveness win and makes a move, revealing that they both might feel more for the other than they admit.

Inanimate Insanity ended with so many unanswered questions and more things opened up for us to use, and I haven't seen anyone use them! Like how does Nickel act with everyone else now? How does Bow feel about Bot? What do Knife and Pickel do now? The list goes on! So, I've decided that now is the time to add more to the story and make the perfect ending, imperfect.

They watch him from afar, like they always do. Mepad is kind, gentle and sometimes sassy, but always good natured. He’s always got a soft smile and a pretty face. Even in the dark times Mepad still pursues, still comforts and most of all, still loves, and the more Balloon watches him - the more they fall in love with him. They’ve never really talked, honestly, it’s just been Balloon watching him on the sidelines. Mepad is everything Balloon isn’t - loved - and very loved at that. Except by Toilet, and really, no one liked Toilet - sometimes Balloon felt bad for them, but then they remembered how Toilet treated them, and suddenly, they wouldn’t feel that bad anymore.
