All Avatar: the Last Airbender drabbles, all the time. Each installment will tend to be character-centric, usually with a darker tinge to them (though there's some humor). I'm always looking for succinct prompt ideas, so please leave a comment with some.
Summaries for the most recent chapters
Drabble No. 11: Hakoda is a prisoner of war. This, he is used to. Then they send in Azula to break him, and nothing could prepare the Water Tribe chief for the Fire Nation princess and her... methods.
Drabble No. 12: Jet had his little gang, and it's a perfectly adequate found family. But it's not enough to erase his past trauma.
Drabble No. 13: Hama is the last waterbender alive in the Fire Nation prison. With no one but the rats and guards to interact with, something in her snaps.
Drabble No. 14: On Ji was a bit in love with Kuzon, but more so enraptured with the shift in thinking he wrought, the changes he left in his wake.
Drabble No. 15: A set of four haiku on each of the four elements. Might be my favorite of the bunch (so far).
Drabble No. 16: Wan Shi Tong is really a simple spirit. The owl just wants to know everything. Why, then, is he still not satisfied with his lot in life? -

Being the princess's shadow isn't easy. She's horrible to you most of the time, but can anyone know her the way that you do? After she returns with none other than Zuko, she seems to have changed in some way. Your whole life you've hated her, but now — why does your heart thunder when she's around? Why do you find yourself enjoying the warmth of her arms around you? Why do you wish more than anything to dry all of her tears?
Maybe she won't ever really change, and maybe she's a terrible person... Does it make you also terrible to admit that you might care for her?

They grew apart, and then they grew up.
Ty Lee stood on the platform, watching her friends on opposite sides, feeling like a child again.
Feeling like they were all children again, fighting over dumplings they stole from the kitchen. Even back then, she had never liked picking sides.
(Azula hurt them. A lot. And it wasn’t something Ty Lee was just going to forgive. It wasn’t just what happened in the last year of the war - Azula had never been nice. There was just so much history, and so much to work through, so much built up fear and resentment.
But there were also moments, in between everything else, stolen moments and stolen dumplings, and maybe that had been worth something too.)

Summary
Azula put a lot of effort into getting Zuzu back into their father's good graces, but that doesn't mean that she appreciates him butting in on her girls' camping trip. Just because Mai is dating him doesn't mean Azula didn't enjoy being an only child for a few years. Thankfully, Ty Lee knows well enough to help Azula ditch her stupid brother while the three of them go and have an actually nice time.
Or... as nice of a time as you can have camping when Azula has never gone camping before, Mai brought about forty pounds more stuff than reasonably required, and Ty Lee is too incompetent to make dinner even when Azula hands it to her pre-charred.
