A child, maybe eight or nine years old, stands half-hidden behind a tree, silvery hair glowing faintly through the dusk as four pairs of amethyst eyes blink steadily up at them. The thing’s skin is pale, with patches of what look like scales climbing periwinkle up a soft jawline and bare arms like ivy.
“What the hell are you?” Punz manages to ask.
Following Dream's escape from prison, he and Punz flee their home, in search of a safe place to survive. When they find a child in the forest, they start learning how to live again.

Day 1: X to Lovers. After Sapnap accidentally triple-books himself, he leaves his friends Dream and Punz to entertain each other at a boardwalk. This quickly spirals into a bet: Can you fall in love in one day?

"Infatuation can be instantaneous but love takes time,” Dream replied decisively. They reached the ticket line, coming to a stop behind a throng of people. “Love at first sight or whatever, that’s not true love. It’s stuff made up for rom-coms and fluff literature. It’s not real.”
“You don’t think you can fall in love in one day? That’s boring,” Punz said and Dream crossed his arms. “Love at first sight is real, dude. Sometimes people just click, or they say that one thing that takes you off guard, or they give you that look, and you realize you’re in love.”
“That’s not falling in love though.” Dream huffed as they shuffled forward in line. “That’s the realization, things build up and tip over at that point. It’s not the only thing that causes people to fall in love.”
“Boring,” Punz repeated. “Somebody here isn’t a romantic.”
“I actually consider myself a hopeless romantic,” Dream countered. “I’m just realistic.”
