Summary
He always tries to ignore their faces, but it’s always pointless. The faces of Seonghwa’s audience are always the same, and always burned into his mind. Their empty, hungry, desperate eyes stare up at him with bated breath as he smiles warmly. They’re expectant, tracking every move he makes, and finally, Seonghwa takes a deep breath. There’s no need for an introduction. These people all know exactly who and what Seonghwa is and what he’ll give them.
He parts his lips and begins to sing, a sweet, gentle melody that seems to linger in the air like something to be held onto. The audience’s eyes soften, their expressions shifting to those of perfect contentment as they feel a rush like no other. Seonghwa soothes their anxieties with his voice, lulling them into a waking dream come true as he sings in a language they both understand fully and cannot hope to decipher.
His listeners always come away happier than ever. Seonghwa never feels worse.
Seonghwa's voice is literally that of an angel, like a drug more potent than any other. The last thing he wants is to keep singing like he does every night, but after a nighttime ambush, that quickly becomes the least of his worries.

His eyes squint again.
“Something’s weird about him,” he says quietly. “I don’t know what it is, but…”
Seonghwa catches on. “Seems challenging?”
“More than the last ones,” San replies, slightly distracted. He can’t place why, but this young man feels like he’s going to be tricky to lure into Goodness.
There’s just something inherently unholy about him.

Wooyoung looks like one of the badder ones he’s ever had to deal with.

Seonghwa watched as Hongjoong carried a sleeping San to bed, Wooyoung clinging to his arm and sleepily following the older boy into the room. The two boys had gone to the leader a while earlier saying they couldn’t sleep, and Hongjoong had guided them to lay by his side/on his lap until they were either asleep or groggy enough that they would fall asleep as soon as their heads touched the pillow. He sighed.

I woke up in a dark room where the air felt like fire, and the floor felt colder than ice. I was hyper aware of myself, the pulsing of blood through my body, making my fingers and neck almost numb to outside touch. My teeth had the feeling of chalk, dry and almost brittle. The flutter of my eyes felt like a jackhammer as I tried desperately to stay awake. However I couldn’t remember how I got here. After what felt like a year I managed to pull myself off the floor and stumble my way to a kitchen, if you could call it that, stalked only with bottles of water and raw meat. I couldn’t stop the shiver that traveled through my spine as I picked up a bottle and took a drink. It didn’t fix many of my problems, but at least it felt like I could breathe again. I turn to try to find my way out, but get distracted by a soft melody twinkle from down a hallway I could barely make out. I hold my breath and slowly make my way towards the noise.

It absolutely wasn’t because Yeosang had convinced himself (for around the one-hundred and twelfth time, but really, who was counting, because it certainly wasn’t Yeosang) that as an angel it was...improper to fraternize with a demon. It definitely wasn’t because he’d caught himself admiring Seonghwa’s smile one too many times, or that he’d found himself daydreaming about grooming Seonghwa’s wings. No, it was because Seonghwa was a demon. An icky, evil, absolutely awful entity who existed only to tempt humans into lives of sin.
