Summary
In his Amish family, Castiel is often cautioned to be wary of being a weed sown amongst the good seed by the Enemy. And so Castiel carefully tends to the garden plot of his Soul, that he may bear fruit as the good seed sown in good soil. But sometimes, he feels like he is the one being choked by weeds. When Dean appears in his life, Castiel is unsure if the man is the Sower or the Reaper, with whom his harvest will be a hundredfold, or be cast into the fire.
Or, Dean helps Castiel when he’s stranded on the side of the road, and a profound bond quickly grows.

Summary
Dean and Sam go to Pennsylvania to help their pregnant (and Amish) Aunt Naomi. Dean thinks of it as an opportunity to get some fresh air, and to put some distance between them and John. While Sam takes everything a little too seriously, or maybe just seriously enough. The trip unearths some trauma that was never dealt with (thanks John), but they'll get through it! Right?
"I mean,” Dean’s throat felt tight, “You could always ask me.”
“But you were four when she died, so you probably don’t remember much either,” Sam said matter-of-factly, and Dean felt the burn of anger and grief in his gut. He knew enough about his mom to mourn her, but not enough to celebrate the life she had. He had loved her hard enough to feel her loss, but he didn’t remember loving her like he loved Sam. He was too young to understand who she was, and she died too young to understand who he would become. Dean’s legs felt weak, but he knew Sam wanted him to say something encouraging.

Amish teen Castiel is about to start his rumspringa and he isn't happy about it. He hates making decisions and enjoys the structure that living in his tiny community gives him. He wants nothing more than to stay there forever. Then he meets Dean and his whole world is turned upside down.
Can these two boys from such different backgrounds possibly make their way in the world together? Or will Castiel's faith tear them apart before they even get started?
