This is a story from a script based on Lucas Dhont and Angelo Tijssens. I applaud these writers and dedicate this work to them. I also dedicate this story to anyone who has been abused, bullied, abandoned or just been tossed out of the way.
In rural Jasper, Colorado, two 12-year-old boys, Leon and Remmy, are best friends with intimate affection for one another. After a carefree summer together, the two boys start high school and find themselves in the same class. A trio of female classmates openly ask if the two are a couple. Leon vehemently denies it, while Remmy does not comment. Leon is bullied by homophobic slurs directed towards him by older boys who notice their close friendship. Wanting to avoid being ostracized, he begins new friendships and takes up baseball.
Leon becomes progressively distant from Remmy. Distraught and angry, Remmy attacks Leon and the two argue in the recess area in front of other students. The friends end up fighting. This is the catalyst for both the boys downfalls and their friendship will never be the same.
