Yolanda flopped down across from Courtney in the booth, leaning over to take one of Courtney’s fries and stuffing it fully in her mouth.
“I heard a rumor today,” she said as she chewed.
“Did you?” Courtney replied, trying to decide if she should safeguard her fries or share them with Yolanda. She reached for her glass to take a sip of her water while she thought about it.
“About you and Cindy,” Yolanda said.
Courtney almost spit out her water. She felt her cheeks grow warm, but she kept her eyes on her water glass, forcing herself to stay calm and definitely not blush.
“And what do those rumors say?” she said, keeping her voice as normal as she possibly could.
Yolanda studied her for a few seconds before letting a smirk break out all over her face. “That the two of you are dating and have been for a while. I think the rumor might even have said you two are in love.”
