A bad earthquake nearly brings their city to its knees, but the thing that has everyone's attention isn't the quake itself or the damage it did. No, everyone is wondering about the giant tear that suddenly appeared, hanging in the air like a gaping wound. Dean gets seriously injured during the quake but not so injured that he didn't hear the raspy sound of wings inside the deep, darkness inside that tear, or miss the gut feeling that there was something dangerous inside it. Dean and his friends are typical teenagers. They like to sneak away to the one place their parents won't look for them and they'll lay around smoking weed, occasionally drinking, and just lounging around talking. The woods weresza their personal hangout until an oil company bought up all the land and began fracking. They'd ignored the maps that sid the area was riddled with caves and went ahead and started shaking up the earth anyway. It causes an earthquake that opens a gaping hole that of course the kids naturally wanted to investigate. They quickly regret doing it though. It's a run-for-your-life situation once they realize there's something down there, deep at the bottom of that hole, and now that the world has been opened up to it again, it's not content to stay down there.

Dean has an absolutely horrible relationship with his grandfather. From his racist comments because he'd had kids with a black woman to the even worse homophobic ones because his longtime partner is a man. To say he hates the man is an understatement, but when his mother calls and nags at him to go visit the jerk, he begrudgingly agrees. Cas goes with and they find themselves standing in an empty nursing home with blood on the floor and something growling and scratching from behind the closed door to the common area. What the hell happened, they have no idea, but when Samuel appears, apparently the only person not affected, they decide to take him with. It'll be a nightmare as awful as what's going on outside but Cas is done with the man's abuse. Samuel is going to shut the hell up and be appreciative for once in his damn life, or they just might leave him on the side of the road!

There's a wolf on campus the night Charlie stops by to visit Dean. It had been months since she'd seen her friend and she'd missed him. The howling wolf scared her though, even if Dean was unphased by it and she couldn't get out of there fast enough. If she knew why there was a wolf on campus she might not have left so quickly but he wasn't ready for her to know. Sometimes it was just better to leave people in the dark.

There once was a man so evil everyone feared him and no one dared cross him. He owned peach orchards where he threatened, coerced, and forced people in town to buy his fruit, and even went on to supply them for the entire state. He was a miserable, horrible person that, upon his death, became a local urban legend, and a test of bravery for the graduating seniors. The dare was to go into the orchard and come back with a piece of fruit. In all the years since the old man had died, not a single person had made it out with a peach.
This time it was Sam who was dared to go into the orchard. He thinks this time he'll actually get out with a peach, chalking the ghost up to vivid imaginations, though he didn't doubt the possibility that one existed. His brother and brother's boyfriend came to be there for him, in case he needed help getting out but he had a plan: Get in, grab the first piece of fruit he saw, and get the hell out. He learns the hard way that some urban legends are real, and they can be quite dangerous.
