Set Bonuses,(BotWBreath of the Wild | TotKTears of the Kingdom)[1][2] also known as Special Bonuses,(TotKTears of the Kingdom)[3] are a recurring mechanic in The Legend of Zelda series.

Overview

Set Bonuses are a type of Added Effect that can only be obtained by wearing all three pieces of certain Armor Sets. Usually Set Bonuses will require all three pieces of the Armor Set to be enhanced at least twice by a Great Fairy, but some Armor Sets have their Set Bonus by default.

While Set Bonuses replace the Added Effect name that is displayed in the Inventory, they do not remove the Effects provided by the individual pieces of the Armor Set, although some Set Bonuses may effectively nullify their benefits. One example of this can be found in the Froggy Armor's Set Bonus Slip Proof, which functions as an improved version of Slip Resistance.

Breath of the Wild

In Breath of the Wild, there are 15 different Set Bonuses, two of which are hidden in the Inventory.
