There is so much underlying RESPECT between them, even though at this point of the story they virtually hate each other

They know each other very well already, know each other’s values and passions and triggers. While Hiruma does initially expect her to cross the line, because she’s the too-good-to-break-rules girl, the nanosecond that she says she won’t do what he fears is the very last time he takes his book of threats out to weaponise it against her.

From then on, their anger at each other becomes bickering on his end, and she starts warming up to him as the story goes.

Even the few times he does take the book of threats out “against” her is literally to say “LMAO I FINALLY HAVE SOMETHING” as he shoves an innocent picture of her in a cheerleading outfit -like he’s gonna show that to the world when he could be the only beneficiary of that glorious piece, boy don’t try to pretend~

To celebrate the year of the snake, I wanted to combine the snake with my other favorite scaled animal, the goldfish! Growing up as little kid in China, I was always fascinated by the goldfish and koi ponds that are scattered in every park and apartment complex. I would stare at them for hours, mesmerized by their shiny scales and graceful movements. Hopefully I was able to capture that in this painting :D
