my name is Omen, i’m 21 years old and i use it/it’s pronouns.

i am also a metalhead.

i have been seeing mental health professionals on and off since i was a child. i am diagnosed with a plethora of mental illnesses, however since this page will be predominantly about cluster B Personality Disorders, i will only be informing you of my diagnosis of NPD, ASPD and BPD.

i also have a score of 38 on a PCL-R test, therefore i do reclaim the term ‘psychopath’.

i may briefly mention my other diagnosis’s, but since that’s not the focus of this blog i don’t see the point in mentioning them on a pinned post.

i fit a lot of ASPD and NPD stereotypes, i will not tolerate anyone giving me shit for this. i do not care what you think about my disorders.

i haven’t yet made a full return to tumblr, since i have been taking time to work on myself, as i treated people in my life like complete shit and i spent the past 6(?) months going through therapy.

however, this, of course, meant re-entering the care of the mental health services and it’s just as disappointing as my previous experiences.

as someone with severe mental health issues, it’s incredibly difficult for me to find anyone who is not only willing to help me, but is also capable of supporting someone with my particular mental illnesses. most are under-qualified and do not know how to approach helping someone with my needs.

i have been fortunate enough to have benefited from the therapy i’ve been receiving, however additional therapy was supposed to be given in the form of anger management sessions, but the healthcare services did not give me these sessions as promised.

this was only the first of the issues.

i was also referred to my local rehab facility and had a conversation over the phone discussing my issues with substance use. they expressed a lot of concern and seemed willing to put me into the rehab services, however the healthcare system, being the way it is, declined the application. despite recognising that i need help with these issues.

i also was told that i would be prescribed new psychiatric medication, but my doctors hadn’t been provided with the necessary details to give me new medication and instead got told to do a meds review, which was not required.

in other words, they left a known addict and alcoholic out of rehab and failed to give me the medication they told me would be given to me, as well as failing to put me through some therapy sessions that i was supposed to be given.

the mental health services are underfunded and extremely dehumanising to have to go through, due to the way a lot of the staff treat you when you have severe struggles with your mental health. not enough people talk publicly about ways that the services have failed them, but in conversation with others about it you’ll find it’s a common occurrence.
