bottlenose dolphins use "baby talk" when communicating to their babies and smile at each other like humans do when they play. be nicies to them

"Dolphins are evil" is just a reactionary backlash to years of earnestly believing dolphins were all benevolence and rescuing sailors only to find out they can be dangerous and violent like any other large wild animal.

"Sharks are nice" is a similar phenomenon in the opposite direction. Pop culture portrays sharks as malevolant killing machines who crave human flesh, so when people realize they're just animals who don't attack people any more than other predators, they overcompensate into thinking you can just swim with great whites with no danger.

The reality, of course, is that both dolphins and sharks are large wild animals who should be approached with caution and respect if at all. It's probably best for you and the animal to admire them from a safe distance.

some humans will try to help you if it's not too much trouble for them and some humans will try to bully you or take your shit or kill you if they think they can get away with it and sometimes those two examples of human can be the same person... and it's the same with every other species too.

Everything on this planet is a complex interplay of situational variation, and we can only see it through the false lens of our own human values and limitations , so animals being "good" or "evil" or whatever is all just nonsense that ignores the strange and wonderful reality of their full existence

actually, no animals are evil because "good" and "evil" are human concepts based around human moral ideology. also, an animal being dangerous to encounter doesn't mean it's evil? this tag made me do a bit of research and dude. polar bears are just hungry giant carnivores. polar bears are actually no more likely to kill and hunt people than black bears. I don't think there are ANY exceptions to the rule of "animals aren't good or evil". they're all wild animals with wild animal behaviours and mentalities. if you say this kind of thing as a joke, it CAN be funny, but be careful that it doesn't turn into an excuse for actually hating an animal.

people are really fucking clueless about generative ai huh? you should absolutely not be using it for any sort of fact checking no matter how convenient. it does not operate in a way that guarantees factual information. its goal is not to deliver you the truth but deliver something coherent based on a given data set which may or may not include factual information. both the idolization of ai and fearmongering of it seem lost on what it is actually capable of doing

Remember what generative "AI" does, kids: it GENERATES. That means it generates answers to questions based on whatever garbage has been fed into it. Not "goes and looks up the answer." Not "already studied and knows everything." It's just reaching into its sack of word salad and dumping a pile on your desk. Sure, maybe the words fit together to form sentences, but that doesn't make it correct.

a generative AI search result vs the exact article it is citing. the website it scrambled that information from also just happens to include info on winged roaches. gisborne cockroaches are completely wingless. even if it's pulling info straight from one reliable source, there is every chance it'll mash up that info into something false.
