I'm literally fucking obsessed with this picture. She looks just like every stoner girl from my high school. She looks like me transitioned. This is a woman who doesn't know how to make pasta but has 7 different varieties of frozen pizza in her freezer. This woman's bong looks like it's made of the scum of a polluted river. Like every good parent, @amalashuor's dream is for her daughter Mariam to grow up healthy and happy.
If love alone was all it took, then I would rest assured that Mariam would have the most wonderful childhood every child deserves, because Amal is an exemplary mother with a great heart and all the love in the world for her child.
As she updates me with photos of Mariam, I'm always surprised how much she's grown since the last time I saw her, and it hurts my heart that I see more than simply growth in that difference; I see the effects of malnutrition, exhaustion, and stress.
I hold hope that Mariam will soon rest on a comfortable bed with a full belly, and not the dirty tent shown in the photo on the left, but for her to hold out long enough for her mother to see that moment come to reality, she needs your support.

On March 20, anarchists and other protesters held simultaneous demonstrations in at least 19 cities in Indonesia in response to the Indonesian Parliament enacting the revised Indonesian National Armed Forces Bill (UU TNI), which paves the way for a return to the authoritarianism of the military dictatorship under Suharto. The protesters confronted extreme police repression in the streets.
These events are part of the same wave of authoritarianism that is sweeping the world. All of our struggles are interlinked.
Our Indonesian comrades are calling on us to engage in solidarity actions, including demonstrating at embassies.

(Quds) Senator Bernie Sanders, long known for his opposition to Israel’s crimes and occupation, has now backed a resolution introduced by Zionists Lindsey Graham, Tom Cotton, and John Fetterman. The resolution opposes a permanent ceasefire and ensures the continuation of the Gaza genocide by declaring that "Hamas is not allowed to have control of Gaza."
According to the resolution they approved, the U.S. will unconditionally support Israel’s assault on Gaza under the pretext of preventing Hamas from maintaining any political or military presence in the Strip. The resolution was approved on March 17, just hours before Israel broke the ceasefire and launched nighttime airstrikes on Gaza, killing at least 400 Palestinians, most of them women and children as they slept.
