     William Courtenay, 1st Viscount Courtenay of Powderham Castle was born on 11 February 1709/10.¹ He was the son of Sir William Courtenay, 2nd Bt. and Lady Anne Bertie.¹ He married Lady Frances Finch, daughter of Heneage Finch, 2nd Earl of Aylesford and Mary Fisher, on 2 April 1741.¹ He died on 16 May 1762 at age 52.¹ He was buried on 31 May 1762 at Powderham, Devon, England^G.
     He graduated from Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1730/31 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)      Lady Frances Finch was born on 4 February 1720/21. She was the daughter of Heneage Finch, 2nd Earl of Aylesford and Mary Fisher.¹ She married William Courtenay, 1st Viscount Courtenay of Powderham Castle, son of Sir William Courtenay, 2nd Bt. and Lady Anne Bertie, on 2 April 1741.¹ She died on 19 December 1761 at age 40.¹ She was buried on 31 December 1761 at Powderham, Devon, England^G.
     Her married name became Courtenay.

     Frances Clack was born circa 1740.² She was the daughter of Thomas Clack.¹ She married William Courtenay, 2nd Viscount Courtenay of Powderham Castle, son of William Courtenay, 1st Viscount Courtenay of Powderham Castle and Lady Frances Finch, on 7 May 1762.³ She died on 25 March 1782 at Grosvenor Square, London, England^G.² She was buried on 5 April 1782 at Powderham, Devon, England^G.
     Her married name became Courtenay. After her marriage, Frances Clack was styled as Viscountess Courtenay of Powderham Castle on 16 May 1762.

     Hon. Frances Courtenay was born in January 1763.² She was the daughter of William Courtenay, 2nd Viscount Courtenay of Powderham Castle and Frances Clack.¹ She married Sir John Honywood, 4th Bt., son of William Honywood and Elizabeth Clack, on 13 December 1779.³
     From 13 December 1779, her married name became Honywood.

     Sir John Honywood, 4th Bt. was the son of William Honywood and Elizabeth Clack.² He married Hon. Frances Courtenay, daughter of William Courtenay, 2nd Viscount Courtenay of Powderham Castle and Frances Clack, on 13 December 1779.³ He died on 29 March 1806.
     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Honywood, of Evington, co. Kent [E., 1660] on 26 June 1781.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Steyning between 1784 and 1785.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Steyning between 1788 and 1790.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Canterbury between 1790 and 1802.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Honiton between 1802 and 1806.³ He was Caroline, married Edward Temple, only s of Rev Thomas William Temple, Doctor of Divinity (D.D.) a son and two daughters): in 1807.³

     Hon. Elizabeth Courtenay was born on 2 September 1766.² She was the daughter of William Courtenay, 2nd Viscount Courtenay of Powderham Castle and Frances Clack. She married General Lord Charles Henry Somerset, son of Henry Somerset, 5th Duke of Beaufort and Elizabeth Boscawen, on 7 June 1788.^1,2 She died on 11 September 1815 at age 49.^1,2
     From 7 June 1788, her married name became Somerset.

     General Lord Robert Edward Henry Somerset was born on 19 December 1776 at Caldicot Castle, Monmouthshire, Wales^G.² He was the son of Henry Somerset, 5th Duke of Beaufort and Elizabeth Boscawen.¹ He married Hon. Louisa Augusta Courtenay, daughter of William Courtenay, 2nd Viscount Courtenay of Powderham Castle and Frances Clack, on 17 October 1805.¹ He died on 1 September 1842 at age 65.¹
     He gained the rank of General.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the 4th Dragoons.¹ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.)¹

     Hon. Matilda Jane Courtenay was born on 6 July 1778.^1,2 She was the daughter of William Courtenay, 2nd Viscount Courtenay of Powderham Castle and Frances Clack. She married John Locke, son of Reverend Thomas Locke and Ann Clack.¹ She died in 1848.¹
     Her married name became Locke.¹

     Margaret Deincourt is the daughter of Sir Edmund Deincourt, 1st Lord Deincourt.¹ She married Robert de Willoughby, 1st Lord Willoughby de Eresby, son of Sir William Willoughby and Alice Beke, before 1303.^1,2
