John Davie1

     John Davie married Eleanora Basset, daughter of Francis Basset and Eleanor Courtenay, on 18 August 1763 at Atherington, Devon, England.1 He died in 1793.1
     He lived at Orleigh Court, Buckland Brewer, Devon, England.1

     Captain John Davie was born on 8 May 1770 at Orleigh, Devon, England.1 He was the son of John Davie and Eleanora Basset.1 He married J. Tapper on 16 February 1815.1 He died on 13 February 1825 at age 54 at Heavitree, Devon, England.1
     He was commissioned in 1782, in the service of the Royal Navy.1
