Sir Robert Harcourt was born circa 1574 at Ellenhall, Staffordshire, England.2 He was the son of Sir Walter Harcourt and Dorothy Robinson.3 He married, firstly, Frances de Vere, daughter of Geoffrey de Vere and Elizabeth Hardkyn.3 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Fitzherbert, daughter of John Fitzherbert and Catherine Restwolde.1 He died on 20 May 1631.3,2
He was educated at St. Alban Hall, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 In 1609 he explored Guyana.3 He wrote the book A Relation of a Voyage to Gviana. Describing the climat, scituation, fertilitie, prouisions, and commodities of that Country. . . . Together with the manners, customes, behauiors, and dispositions of the people, published 1613.2 He lived at Stanton Harcourt, Oxfordshire, England.3
