     David Erskine Dewar was born on 1 May 1796.1 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. David Dewar and Mary Cutler.2 He died on 26 January 1821 at age 24, unmarried.1
     He was educated at St. Andrews University, St. Andrews, Fife, ScotlandG.1 He was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates in 1819.1

Sir James Dewar1

     Sir James Dewar was born circa 1797.1 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. David Dewar and Mary Cutler.2 He married Clementine Wemyss, daughter of William Wemyss, in January 1826.1 He died circa November 1830.1 He was buried on 25 November 1830 at Bombay, IndiaG.1
     He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1821 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He was a practising barrister in 1826 at Bombay, IndiaG.1 He held the office of Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Judicature of Bombay in 1829.1 He was appointed Knight in 1829.1 He lived at Cuttle Hill, Fife, ScotlandG.1

     Clementine Wemyss was the daughter of William Wemyss.2 She married Sir James Dewar, son of Maj.-Gen. David Dewar and Mary Cutler, in January 1826.1 She died before 1834.1
     From January 1826, her married name became Dewar.

Reverend David Erskine Dewar1

     Reverend David Erskine Dewar was born on 3 October 1826.1 He was the son of Sir James Dewar and Clementine Wemyss.2 He married Elizabeth Ann Fane Parry, daughter of John Billingsley Parry, on 15 July 1852.1 He died on 30 December 1906 at age 80.1

     Elizabeth Ann Fane Parry was the daughter of John Billingsley Parry.2 She married Reverend David Erskine Dewar, son of Sir James Dewar and Clementine Wemyss, on 15 July 1852.1 She died on 19 April 1881.1
     From 15 July 1852, her married name became Dewar.

     Annie Clementina Dewar was born on 31 October 1855.1 She was the daughter of Reverend David Erskine Dewar and Elizabeth Ann Fane Parry.2 She married Dr. Matthew Everard Puakahakoililanimanuia Makalua, son of Manuia Makalua and Kaipoleimanu Kahoohanohano Makalua, on 27 August 1888.1 She died on 6 November 1927 at age 72.1
     From 27 August 1888, her married name became Makalua.
