     David Matthew Henry Dewar of Gilston was born on 22 January 1919.¹ He was the son of Major Matthew James Manuia Dewar and Marjorie Harriet Beaman.² He married Barbara Mary Terry, daughter of Frederick Charles Andrews Terry, on 4 June 1954.¹ He died on 12 September 1999 at age 80 at Sutton, Surrey, England.^1,3
