     Arthur Philip Coote was born on 24 January 1887.1 He was the son of Sir Algernon Charles Plumptre Coote, 12th Bt. and Ellen Melesina Chenevix Trench.2 He married Margaretta Wright, daughter of Albert Leslie Wright and Margaretta Agnes Plumptre, on 5 September 1918.1 He died on 5 October 1954 at age 67.1
     He was Inspector with the Sudan Civil Service. He was Deputy Governor of the Red Sea Province.1 He was awarded the Order of the Nile 4th Class.1
