     Juliet Eleanor Hugolyn Whitelocke was the daughter of Commander G. Whitelocke.1 She married, firstly, Edward Colin Winter, son of Lt.-Col. Charles Edward Winter, before 1965.1 She married, secondly, Sir Geoffrey Voltelin Bates, 5th Bt., son of Major Cecil Robert Bates and Hylda Madeleine Heath, in 1971.1 She died on 21 April 2003.1
     Juliet Eleanor Hugolyn Whitelocke usually went by her middle name of Hugolyn.1 From before 1965, her married name became Winter.1 From before 1971, her married name became Whitelocke-Winter.1 From 1971, her married name became Bates.1

     Major Cecil Robert Bates was born on 3 February 1882.1 He was the son of Sir Edward Percy Bates, 2nd Bt. and Constance Elizabeth Graves.1 He married Hylda Madeleine Heath, daughter of Sir James Heath, 1st and last Bt. and Euphemia Celina Van der Byl, on 27 June 1918.1 He died on 5 March 1935 at age 53.1
     He gained the rank of Major in 1914 in the Royal Field Artillery.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1918.1

     Sir Edward Percy Bates, 2nd Bt. was born on 17 August 1845.1 He was the son of Sir Edward Bates, 1st Bt. and Ellen Thompson.2 He married Constance Elizabeth Graves, daughter of Samuel Robert Graves, on 20 April 1876.1 He died on 31 December 1899 at age 54.1
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Bates, of Bellefield, co. Lancaster [U.K., 1880] on 17 October 1896.2 He lived at Gyrn Castle, Llanasa, Holywell, Flintshire, WalesG.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Flintshire in 1899.1

     Sir Percy Elly Bates, 4th Bt. was born on 12 May 1879.1 He was the son of Sir Edward Percy Bates, 2nd Bt. and Constance Elizabeth Graves.1 He married Mary Ann Lefroy, daughter of Very Rev. William Lefroy and Mary Ann MacIver, on 20 June 1907.1 He died on 16 October 1946 at age 67.1
     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Bates, of Bellefield, co. Lancaster [U.K., 1880] on 6 March 1903.1 He was chairman of the Cunard Steam Ship Company and Cunard White Star.1 He was a director of Midland Bank.1 He was a director of the Great-Western Railway.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Cheshire in 1920.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the British Empire (G.B.E.) in 1920.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Cheshire.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Captain in 1935 in the Royal Naval Reserve.1 He was admitted to Freeman of the City of London in 1935.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.2

     Sir Edward Bertram Bates, 3rd Bt. was born on 7 March 1877.1 He was the son of Sir Edward Percy Bates, 2nd Bt. and Constance Elizabeth Graves.1 He died on 6 March 1903 at age 25, unmarried.1
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Bates, of Bellefield, co. Lancaster [U.K., 1880] on 31 December 1899.1 He lived at Manydown Park, Hampshire, EnglandG.1 He lived at Gyrn Castle, Llanasa, Holywell, Flintshire, WalesG.1
