     Anne Millicent Bates was the daughter of Sir Edward Bates, 1st Bt. and Ellen Thompson.1 She married Donald Ninian Nicol of Ardmarnoch on 25 November 1874.1 She died on 7 March 1946.1
     From 25 November 1874, her married name became Nicol.1

     From 9 December 1880, her married name became Chamberlayne.1

     Stanes Brocket Henry Chamberlayne was born on 8 February 1843.2 He was the son of Henry Thomas Chamberlayne and Mary Tomes.1,2 He married Norah Greame Bates, daughter of Sir Edward Bates, 1st Bt. and Ellen Thompson, on 9 December 1880.1 He died on 5 March 1931 at age 88.1
     He lived at Witherley Hall, Atherstone, Warwickshire, EnglandG.1
