Mary Lyon Dennistoun1,2

     Mary Lyon Dennistoun was born on 26 October 1788 at Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.2 She was the daughter of Richard Dennistoun and Christian Calder Alston.1,3 She married Archibald Buchanan, son of Andrew Buchanan, 1st of Ardenconnel and Jane Dennistoun, on 3 June 1816.1 She died on 30 June 1868 at age 79.1
     From 3 June 1816, her married name became Buchanan.1

     Andrew Buchanan was born on 14 March 1817.1 He was the son of Archibald Buchanan and Mary Lyon Dennistoun.1 He married Mary Jemima Dundas Adamina Fergusson, daughter of Sir James Fergusson of Kilkerran, 4th Bt. and Hon. Henrietta Duncan, on 20 November 1845.1 He died in 1886, without issue.1
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He lived at Auchintorlie, Dunbartonshire, ScotlandG.1

     George Hermand Fergusson was born on 22 August 1810.2 He was the son of Sir James Fergusson of Kilkerran, 4th Bt. and Hon. Henrietta Duncan.1,2 He married Jane Gilmour, daughter of Walter Little-Gilmour, 6th of Craigmillar and 11th of Gilberton and Anne Macdowell, on 23 March 1841.2 He married, secondly, Georgina Grace Buchanan, daughter of Archibald Buchanan and Mary Lyon Dennistoun, on 28 July 1857.1 He died on 27 April 1870 at age 59.1

     James Buchanan was born on 26 January 1776.1 He was the son of Andrew Buchanan, 1st of Ardenconnel and Jane Dennistoun.1 He married Lady Janet Sinclair, daughter of James Sinclair of Mey, 12th Earl of Caithness and Jean Campbell, on 10 May 1805.1 He died on 21 December 1860 at age 84.1
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Caithness-shire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Caithnes-shire.1 He lived at Craigend Castle, Stirlingshire, ScotlandG.2 He lived at Ardenconnel, Dunbartonshire, ScotlandG.1

     James Sinclair of Mey, 12th Earl of Caithness was born on 31 October 1766 at Barrogill Castle, Caithness, ScotlandG.2 He was the son of Sir John Sinclair of Mey, 6th Bt. and Charlotte Sutherland.3 He married Jean Campbell, daughter of General Alexander Campbell of Barcaldine and Helen Sinclair, on 2 January 1784 at Thurso Castle, Thurso, Caithness, ScotlandG.2
     He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Sinclair, of Canisbay, co. Caithness [N.S., 1631] on 26 March 1774.1 He succeeded as the 12th Earl of Caithness [S., 1455] on 8 April 1789.1 On 4 May 1793 he was found to be the rightful Earl.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Caithness between 1794 and 1823.1 He held the office of Representative Peer [Scotland] between 1807 and 1818.1 He held the office of Postmaster-General between 1811 and 1823.1 He was (an unknown value) on 16 July 1823 at Barrogill Castle, Caithness, ScotlandG.2
