Hon. John Sinclair was born on 4 July 1808.1 He was the son of James Sinclair of Mey, 12th Earl of Caithness and Jean Campbell.2 He married Maria Petronella Church, daughter of John Church, on 22 October 1833.1 He died on 8 January 1861 at age 52.1

Maria Petronella Church was the daughter of John Church.2 She married Hon. John Sinclair, son of James Sinclair of Mey, 12th Earl of Caithness and Jean Campbell, on 22 October 1833.1 She died on 26 February 1878.1
