Rear axle oscillation
• The pivot-mounted rear axle
has an oscillation of +/- 13º
• This oscillation gives good
contact with the ground and
optimal traction and rimpull,
even in rough off-road
conditions.

Axle oil temperature
• The Contronic monitoring
system includes an axle oil
temperature warning.
• The temperature monitoring
system has two warnings, one
yellow warning when the
temperatures increases above
110 ºC (230 ºF). And one red
warning when the temperature
increases above the danger
level (140 ºC, 284 ºF) and the
transmission is engaged, a
buzzer is activated. The
Contronic display shows in
plain text from which axle
the warning comes.

Smooth and effective braking
• Volvo machines feature oil
circulation-cooled outboard-
mounted wet disc brakes for
long service life and smooth
braking.
• The brake system has two
circuits, one for the front axle
and one for the rear axle.
Each circuit has back-up
accumulators.

Internal oil circulation
• The internal oil circulation in
the axle is provided by an
impeller mounted on the brake
discs.
• This allows heat to disperse
over the entire axle housing.
