purpose for viewing. The video clip is all about how
we could lessen or prevent the harmful effects of
waste materials in the environment through 5Rs.

Teacher 1
Engagement

Have the learners read the waste management

system through a power point presentation.
Show two thumbs up if the practice is right and
and two thumbs down if it is wrong.

1.Use the empty jars of

mayonnaise as candy jars or
food storage jars.
2.Put all food residues together with
the trash of the day
3.Bury aluminum cans and broken
glasses underground

4.Segregate glass wastes from plastic,

papers, and rubber.

5.Burn old tires and broken

plastic toys at the backyard.
2. Motivation

could lessen or prevent the
harmful effects of waste materials
in the environment through 5Rs.

Presentation of output/Discussion and Analysis

a. Why do we need to recycle, reduce,

reuse, recover and repair waste
materials?
b. In what ways these 5Rs could help
lessen the harmful effects of waste
materials in the environment?
Generalization

Recycle, Reduce, Reuse, Recover and Repair are

ways of Waste Management.

They will help lessen the production of waste

materials that will cause harmful effects in the
environment because :
1.people were able to find ways to make another
product
2. lessen the use of unnecessary materials, use
again materials in different purpose
3. take energy from waste materials and use into
more beneficial use .
4Learn how to fix and restore broken items to be
used again.

If people will really follow the 5Rs of Waste

Management, harmful effects of waste materials
to the environment will be prevented.
Application

Awareness of the importance of

5Rs of Waste Management is
everybody’s responsibility.
How will you extend what you
learned today at home?
Evaluation

Write the concept of 5Rs as described by each importance.

WEEK 7 Day 5
Lesson 34: Practicing Proper
Waste Disposal

PRECY R. UMALI
JZMES SANTA ROSA CITY LAGUNA
What method of 5 R’s technique was used to
come up with this new form of material?
Animal wastes
Incineration is a waste treatment process that
involves the combustion of organic substances
contained in waste materials.[1] Incineration and
other high-temperature waste treatment
systems are described as "thermal treatment".
Incineration of waste materials converts the
waste into ash, flue gas and heat. The ash is
mostly formed by the inorganic constituents of
the waste, and may take the form of solid lumps
or particulates carried by the flue gas.
The flue gases must be cleaned of gaseous
and particulate pollutants before they are
dispersed into the atmosphere. In some
cases, the heat generated by incineration
can be used to generate electric power.
Incineration with energy recovery is one of
several waste-to-energy (WtE) technologies
such as gasification, pyrolysis and
anaerobic digestion..[2]
Discussion and Analysis

1.How can you help practice

proper waste disposal here in
school?
at home? in the community?
2.What will you do to help other
pupils be aware of the importance
of proper waste disposal
Teacher will evaluate pupils’ performance tasks on practicing proper
waste disposal in school through close monitoring of the classroom-
based waste segragation scheme being implented.
