    PREPARATION OF DELIVERY ROOM SET OF
    INSTRUMENTS

    MULTI PARA:
    1. 1 Mayo scissors – use to cut the umbilical cord.
    2. 1 Kelly clamp (curve) – use to clamp the cord towards the baby.
    3. 1 Kelly clamp (straight) – use to clamp the cord towards the
    placenta.
    4. Rubber suction bulb – Suction oral and nasal secretions of baby.
    5. Several sterile gloves
    6. Sterile towel
    7. Pair of gloves
    8. Mayo table – where all instruments are placed.
    PRIMI PARA:
    1. 1 Mayo scissor – use to cut the cord and to cut the perineum
    during episiotomy.
    2. 1 Kelly clamp (curve)
    3. 1 Kelly clamp (straight)
    4. Rubber suction bulb
    5. Several sterile gloves
    6. Sterile towel
    MAYO SCISSORS ( straight and curve)
     7. Pair of gloves
     8. Mayo table

     Additional:
     1 Metzenbaum (Metz) – use to cut suture during episiorraphy
     1 needle holder – use to hold the needle
     1 tissue forceps
     1 suture chromic 2-0
     Xylocaine 2% ( 5cc) – use as anesthesia during episiorraphy
     1 Syringe (5cc with g23 needle).
    METZENBAUM SCISSOR

    USES:
     Metzenbaum scissors or dissecting scissors are primarily used in
    surgery to cut tissue and suture materials.
    Metzenbaum scissor ( straight)
    Metzenbaum scissor ( curve)
    MAYO SCISSORS (straight and curve)
    KELLY CLAMP (straight and curve)

    USES:
     The Kelly Forceps are largely used to clamp small to medium
    blood vessels providing hemostasis and clamping tissue. With its
    distal tip the forceps are ideal for intricate surgical work, made
    with stainless steel.
     Hemostatic Forceps with a serrated blunt tip can be used to clamp
    large blood vessels, manipulate heavy tissue and dissect soft
    tissue.
    RUBBER SUCTION BULB
    USES:
     A bulb syringe is used to remove mucus from your baby’s mouth
    or nose.
    STERILE TOWEL
    USES:
     The surgical towel is a sterile drape used to cover the body while
    surgery is being performed.
     Can be used to cover certain of the patient.
     Can be used to wipe sterile surgical instruments.
    NEEDLE HOLDER

    USES:
     A needle holder, also called needle driver, is a surgical
    instrument, similar to hemostat used by the Doctors and Surgeons
    to hold a suturing needle for closing wounds during suturing and
    surgical procedures.
    KIDNEY BASIN
    USES:
     A kidney dish or emesis basin is a shallow basin with a kidney-
    shaped base and sloping walls used in medical and surgical wards
    to receive soiled dressings and other medical wastes.
