Distech Controllers -
ECLYSPE Series
System Advantages:
• All models available with embedded ENVYSION web-based graphic design and
visualization interface, for local hosting of application and monitoring graphics.
• Simultaneous support of wired IP and Wi-Fi (access point, client, hotspot), including
support of Wi-Fi bridge. Two Ethernet ports allow controllers to be wired in daisy-
chain topology and enable an STP loop-free topology configuration for redundancy
and increased reliability.
• Embedded support of BACnet MS/TP routing to IP, and Modbus integration on each
controller, to connect meters, VFDs and other devices without additional gateways.
• Advanced, built-in security features and authentication services, for robust IP-based
implementation. (RestfulAPI, RadiusService)
• Local hosting of Alarms, Trends and Schedules. (250k trends suggested limit but can go higher)
• Up to 10000 AVs, BVs and MSVs per controller
• Email notifications. 4

ENVYSION Graphics –Preloaded VAV Config
• VAV Box Code, Input Code and Output Code:
• Allows for quick configuration of VAV.
• Once a box is configured, codes can be copied to other VAVs with the exact same configuration.
• *- Any change in device configuration, e.g., a discharge temp sensor on UI-3 instead of UI-2, will
require different codes.
• For example:
• Single Duct, Cooling Only, no Discharge Temp Sensor = code 0, 0, 8
• Single Duct, Discharge Temperature and 2-10V Hot Water Reheat Coil = code 4, 6 ,104.
• Codes will typically be provided to the technician with checkout sheets and DDC.

28
Xpressgfx Points
• Xpressgfx Points is an Excel based Add-in tool that allows users to create
new point lists or use existing point lists to generate pre-configured EC-
gfxProgram input/output (I/O) blocks.
30
Xpressgfx Points
31
Xpressgfx Points – Parts Manager
• The Parts Manager feature of Xpressgfx Points is an effective tool to create a database of field
devices. This database can then be used to quickly populate Inputs and Outputs for a controller.
• By selecting parts from Parts Manager, point scaling, facets and alarm configuration data is
automatically populated, increasing efficiency, reducing human error, and maintaining standards.
32
Lab #1
• Open binder to Submittal.
• Open blank excel workbook.
• Save-as First Initial, Last Name, _DSTD_IO. E.g., “tmagill_DTSD_IO.xlsx”
• Open “Lab#1 Build Checkout Sheet.docx” located here:

33
XpressNetwork Utility
The XpressNetwork Utility is a tool used for remote configuration of ECLYPSE controllers.
• Ability to batch configure from a single parameter to the entire device configuration across multiple controllers.
• Ability to batch update firmware. User can select large group of controllers and XpressNetwork will perform
updates three controllers at a time.
• Most useful when riser is installed so batch updates can be performed.

Device Discovery Device Parameters and Software Updates Commission DDC Graphics
• Device Discovery:
• Find ECY controllers on the network. Will only find ECY controllers.
• Devices can be manually added to table, or imported from a csv created with XpressNetwork Companion
cellphone app. Scan QR codes, email list to yourself for importing.
• Device Parameters:
• Update some of the most frequently used configuration items in the controller.
• Perform Firmware/Extension updates.
• Commissioning Wizard:
• Guided controller configuration.
• Can export configuration as a csv, then when configuring similar controllers, edit csv, import csv, and batch
commission in groups, saving significant time.
• Project Upload:
• Send DDC to a controller. 36

EC-gfxProgram
EC-gfx is the Distech Programming Tool. Used for authoring DDC and also for all point configurations including
alarming and trend log creation.
• Block-oriented programming reduces user’s learning curve and results in fewer errors making it a faster and more
intuitive programming method.
• Easily troubleshoot your application in real-time through live-debugging that shows block input and output values
of the code being executed
• Resource configuration window supports batch object configuration. View the resources tree, select multiple
objects, and change the shared parameters of all the selected objects all at once.
• With the offline controller emulator, easily create and troubleshoot code without having to connect to a live
controller thus providing accessibility in the comfort of your own office or while travelling.

Become familiar with the connection status indicators at the bottom right of your
program interface. Useful when certain errors occur during debugging.
46
EC-gfxProgram Ways to Start Program and Connect
There are two ways to startup the program and to connect to a device:
1. Launch Wizard – Connection to device through Niagara database.
2. Connect to Server – Connection through the File Menu or during app launch using:
a) REST – Distech Protocol for Communication from Controllers to Niagara
b) BacNet Niagara – Not typically used for our purposes
c) Emulator – Virtual device and database for offline programming.
47
EC-gfxProgram Configuration Resources
1. Configuration Resources is the place to perform most non-logic and sequencing functions.
2. Alarms are setup and configured here.
3. Trend logs are added using this tool.
4. Basically, a lot of usually database related functions are setup here ahead of time.
48
EC-gfxProgram Hubs and Targets
• A connection via references is done by connecting the output port of one block to a Reference Hub
block and then connecting a corresponding Reference Target block to the input port(s) of other
blocks. This is how you pass values between two Programming Sheets to inter-connect blocks.
49
Tech Tips
• Test every Ethernet cable.
• Firmly attach tubing to pressure ports
• Acquire an 8mm ratcheting wrench.
• Utilize XpressNetwork Utility to find an errant IP address.
• Expansion Modules are hot swappable. Makes it easier to land wires.
