Cotton seeds give us cooking oil and cotton seed cake which is used to feed
domestic animals like cattle.
Harvesting is done when the bolls split open and release the lint.
The lint is sold to factories which make cloth while the seeds are sold to oil companies
to extract oil from them.
It is planted by hand and its planted when the rains start.
Harvesting is done by hand pulling out the lint from the open bolls.
After harvesting, cotton is sorted where good quality cotton is separated from the
poor quality.
5. Cotton stainers
They pierce the bolls with their mouth and introduce a fungus which stains the lint and
also lower the grade of the cotton seed.
