This document reviews key skill-related components (SRCs) like agility, balance, coordination, power, speed, and reaction time that are assessed for sports readiness. It defines each component and provides example tests to measure them, such as the Illinois Agility Test for agility. The document also discusses the FITT formula for exercise frequency, intensity, time, and type, as well as the four heart rate types and three workout phases including warm-up, workout proper, and cool down.

the readiness and skill level of an individual in preparation for sports, dance, recreation and similar activities.
Agility – the ability to move from one direction to
another with ease & comfort. i.e. Lateral movements TEST: Illinois Agility Test
Balance – the ability to maintain equilibrium for a
long period of time. i.e. Gymnastics. TEST: Stork Balance Test Coordination – the ability to harmoniously move the different body segments smoothly. i.e. Basketball TEST: Alternate Wall Hand Toss Test
Power – the ability to explode with one maximal effort.
i.e. Powerlifting

amount of time. i.e. Sprinting or running event
Reaction Time – the ability to react fast to a stimuli.
i.e. Starting gun, horn or whistle TEST: Coin Snatch The FITT Formula
F – Frequency I – Intensity T – Time T – Type Frequency – refers to the number of times you will exercise.
Intensity – how hard you will exert
your effort during your exercise.
Time – the amount of time you will
spending in your workout/exercise.
Type – the type of
exercise/workout you will engage in – goal setting 4 Types of Heart Rate:
Resting Heart Rate (RHR)
Maximum Heart Rate (MHR) Training Heart Rate (THR) Recovery Heart Rate (ReHR) 3 Phases of a Complete Workout: Warm-up and flexibility exercises Workout Proper Cool Down Thank you for listening
