Volleyball: Forearm Pass (Dig) Assessment Sheet

Name____________________________________
AusVELS Standards: At Level 6, students perform confidently and efficiently in
a range of movement environments. They refine basic and complex motor skills
and apply these skills in increasingly complex games and activities. They
evaluate the performance of a partner and provide constructive feedback based
on performance criteria to assist skill development. Goals: to perform a forearm
pass with control and correct technique as practised in prior lessons.
Directions: In designated groups of 3s, practice performing forearm passes
(digging). Once your group feels that you have had enough practice, each
student in the group will have a turn of being the performer of the dig, facilitator
and the assessor of the performance. Each performer gets 10 attempts at the
Technical score (Skill Focus 1-4) and 10 attempts at the Execution Score (Skill
Focus 5). In between attempts provide the performer with feedback on how they
can improve the performance of their dig. Use a simple tick and cross to indicate
whether the performer executed the skill correctly, or not.
When you reach your last 3 attempts (Attempt Number 7, 8, 9) at the execution
stage (Skill Focus 5) you must stop, raise your hand to get the teachers attention
and the last 3 attempts will be filmed for teacher assessment.
