Introduction to Management Systems

The orientation of each management system is as follows:


 iManager T2000 Web LCT
 The T2000 Web LCT realizes the local maintenance and equipment turn-up of
Huawei OptiX products.
 iManager T2000
 The iManager T2000 (T2000 for short) is a subnet management system (SNMS) f
or transport networks. The T2000 manages the full series of Huawei OptiX pr
oducts. The T2000 supports all functions of the NE layer and some of the ne
twork layer management functions.
 iManager T2100
 The iManager T2100 (T2100 for short) is a network-level management system t
hat uniformly manages the full series of Huawei OptiX products. It manages
large-scale optical transport networks in a uniform manner.
 iManager MDS
 The iManager MDS (MDS for short) is a business-level management system for
transport networks. It assists users to plan and simulate an optical transp
ort network.

T2000 Web LCT – Main Characteristics

The characteristics of the T2000 Web LCT are as foll


ows:
 Web-based solution
 Per-NE configuration and maintenance
 Access to a local NE through a LAN/RS 232
 Access to a remote NE through DCC
 Management of NEs of various types
 Concurrent login to a maximum of 32 NEs
 Integration with the T2000, T2100 or third-pa
rty management system

T2000 Web LCT – Function

The T2000 Web LCT provides the following NE-layer management functions:
 Service configuration (including PDH and SDH microwave services)
 Protection configuration (intermediate frequency protection, SNCP, LMS
P)
 Setting and query of the intermediate frequency attributes
 Setting and query of the radio frequency attributes
 Data services : support the 10M/100M fast Ethernet transparent transmi
ssion board EFT4 and L2 switching board EMS6
 Setting and viewing of alarms and performance data
 Communication and security

Web LCT Configuration – Logging In to an NE

Step1 Double-click the T2000 Web LCT shortcut icon on the desktop to launch the T2000
Web LCT.

Step2 The User Login screen is displayed. Enter the user name and password. Click Login.

Create an NE in one of the following two ways.

1. Click NE Search and specify the search criteria. Select the NE to be added to create a new
NE.

2. Create an NE directly. Click the “Add NE” and Enter the information of the NE and
create the NE.

Managing NEs – Logging In to an NE
 Step 1: In the NE List, select the target NE and click NE Login.Then, the
IE displays the NE Login dialog box.

• Step 2:Enter the User Name and the Password. Then, click OK.

•The Login Status of the NE in the NE List changes to Logged In.

Step 1 In the NE Explorer, choose Configuration > NE Attribute from the


Function Tree.

Step 2 Click Modify NE ID. The system displays the Modify NE ID dialog box.

Step 3 Set a new ID for the NE. Click OK.

Step 4 Click OK.

 Select the NE from the Object Tree in the NE Explore. Choose Comm
unication > Communication Parameters from the Function Tree.
 Set the IP.

 Click Apply.

Managing NEs – Configuring Logical Boards
 Click the Slot Layout tab and click Add Logical Boards. Based on the slot layout, the NE
automatically configures the logical boards that are required but still not be configured for
certain physical boards.

Managing NEs –Synchronizing the NE Time
 Ensure that the time zone and time on the Web LCT computer are correctly set.
 Select the NE from the Object Tree in the NE Explore. Choose Configuration > NE Time Localization
Management from the Function Tree.
 Correctly set the time zone and daylight saving time (DST) of the NE depending on the location of the NE.

 Click Apply.

Managing NEs –Synchronizing the NE Time

 Select the NE from the Object Tree in the NE Explore. Choose Configuration > NE Time
Synchronization from the Function Tree.
 After the synchronization mode and relevant parameters are set, click Apply.

 Set the Synchronization Starting Time and click Apply.

Creating IF 1+1 Protection

 Select the NE from the Object Tree in the NE Explorer. Choose Configuration > Link
Configuration from the Function Tree. Click the IF 1+1 Protection tab.

Creating IF 1+1 Protection

 Click New. The system displays the Create IF 1+1 Protection dialog box. Set the

parameters of the IF 1+1 protection group. Click OK.

Creating IF 1+1 Protection
 IF 1+1 protection support external external switching operation. The external switching
priority from the highest to the lowest is Clear switching, Lockout switching, Forced
switching, Manual switching.

Configuring the IF/ODU Information of a Radio Link
 Select the NE from the Object Tree in the NE Explore. Choose Configuration > Link Configuration
from the Function Tree. Click IF/ODU Configuration. Click an IF board or ODU. Then, the system
displays the IF/ODU information of the radio link to which the IF board belongs. Set the corresponding
IF information of the radio link. Click Apply. Set the corresponding ODU information of the radio link.
Click Apply.

Configuring the Parameters of IF Ports

 Select the IF board from the Object Tree in the NE Explore. Choose Configuration > IF
Interface from the Function Tree. Click the IF Attributes tab. Here can set the working
mode, link ID, IF port loopback, 2M bit/s wayside service.

Configuring the Parameters of IF Ports

 Click the ATPC Attributes tab. Set each parameter for the ATPC attributes. The ATPC Enable
status, ATPC Upper Threshold, ATPC Lower Threshold, ATPC Adjustment can be configured here.

Configuring the Parameters of ODU Ports

 Select the ODU from the Object Tree in the NE Explore. Choose Configuration > ODU
Interface from the Function Tree. Click the Radio Frequency Attributes tab. Configure
the transmit frequency and T/R spacing. Click Apply.

Creating Cross-Connections of Point-to-Point
Services
 In a cross-connection of point-to-point services, one service source corresponds to one
service sink. This operation is applicable to VC12, VC3, and VC4 SNCP services.


Procedure
 Select the NE from the Object Tree in the NE Explore. Choose Configuration > Cross-
Connection Configuration from the Function Tree.

Note: Click Scheme to change the VC-12 timeslot numbering scheme used for the cross-
connections

Configuring the Orderwire

 Select the NE from the Object Tree in the NE Explore. Choose Configuratio
n > Orderwire from the Function Tree. Click the General tab. Configure th
e orderwire information.

Browse Alarms

 By using the Web LCT, you can browse the current and history alarms, the reporting status
of alarms for an NE and boards, and abnormal events.

Adjusting the Alarm Management Function
Adjust the alarm management function of a board or port according to the service
availability, thus improving the alarm monitoring efficiency.
The common alarm management functions as list:

Starting the Monitoring of the NE Performance
 Select the NE from the Object Tree in the NE Explore. Choose Performance > NE Performance
Monitor Time from the Function Tree.
 Set the performance monitoring parameters according to the requirements. Normally, enable the
15-minute and the 24-hour performance monitoring at the same time

Browse Performance
 You can browse the current and history performance data, UAT events, threshold
crossings, and performance monitoring status. You can set the performance
threshold and reset a board registry.
