 Food Rituals are the
ways people follow to
eat their food, and when
these ways are not
followed, these people
get the feelings of
anxiety and stress.
 Food Rituals express the
culture of a certain tribe,
society, or country.
Blood Drinking in Kenya

The Masai warriors still follow the
ritual of blood drinking today, in
which they mix it with milk or
directly drink it from the veins of the
cows.

This ethnic group consider blood
drinking as a delicacy, a rare food
that expresses a certain culture.
They do this ritual on occasions like
marriage or child birth.

They puncture the flesh on the cow’s
neck using an arrow , and they suck
its blood.

As a conclusion, this PowerPoint covered the
definitions of food rituals, eating disorder rituals,
and religious food rituals. It was also inclusive of
several examples that clarify what each of these
terms mean. In my opinion, food is sacred, so we
should not turn food into obsessions.
Enjoy the foods you have on
certain occasions and get to
know the cultures of other
societies through the food
they eat.
