PRIMARY ACCOMMODATION

HOTELS
 Offer lodging and accommodation for a
large amount of people. Hotels often
provide private rooms and bathrooms,
maid service, telephones, television sets,
and sometimes pools, restaurants, gyms,
and game centers.
 The cost of opening a hotel depends on
the size and amenities offered and
usually have a standard system of rating
compared to other types of lodging.
 A few examples of hotels :
a. Hatten hotel Melaka
b. Hard Rock Hotel Penang
c. Four Points Sandakan
d. Hilton Kuala Lumpur

 International luxury hotels offer high quality
amenities, full service accommodations, on-site
full-service restaurants, and the highest level
of personalized and professional service in
major or capital cities.
 International luxury hotels are classified with
at least a Five Diamond rating or Five Star
hotel rating depending on the country and local
c l a s s i f i c a t i o n sQ
tandards.

RESORT HOTELS
 A resort hotel is a hotel which often
contains full-sized luxury facilities with
full-service accommodations and
amenities. These hotels may attract both
business conferences and vacationing
tourists and offer more than a convenient
p l a c e t o s t a y.
 Most resorts work to full capacity during
peak season.
 Sales and revenue fluctuate from season to
season.
 A few example of resort hotels :
a. Shangri La Rasa Ria Resort
b. Resort World Genting
c. Sea Star Resort Semporna
d. The Andaman, a Luxury Collection Resort
COMMERCIAL HOTELS
 They are situated in the heart of
the city in busy commercial areas
so as to get good and high
business.
 Hotel for transients that caters
especially to salesmen and
businessmen.
 Also located at downtown districts
area that are convenient and of
interest to their target markets.
 Guest amenities may include
complimentary n e w s p a p e r, cable
television, swimming pool, health
club and high speed internet
access.
 Example of this hotels such as
Sofitel, Le Meridien, The Majestic

 As name implies these hotels are
established on luxury liners or
ship.

 In cruise ships, rooms are
generally small and all furniture
is fixed down and it a long stay
guest.

CAPSULE HOTELS
 Also known in the Western world as
a pod hotel,[1] is a type of hotel
developed in Japan that features
many small bed-sized rooms known
as capsules.
 The first capsule hotel in the world
opened in 1979 and was the
Capsule Inn Osaka, located in the
Umeda district of Osaka, Japan and
designed by Kisho Kurokawa.

AIRPORT HOTELS
 Located near the airports especially international
airports.
 Usually target market such as airline p a s s e n g e r,

BOUTIQUE HOTELS
 This hotel provides exceptional
accommodation , furniture in a themed and
stylish manner and caters to corporate
travelers.
 Boutique hotels are typically small, with 10 to
100 rooms. They are intimate in scale,
creating the ambiance of being a personal
guest in a private home, rather than just a
hotel occupant. They often have communal
“living spaces” where guests can interact.
 Many boutique hotels are located in the most
hip and fashionable urban areas.
 Providing bespoke luxury amenities such as
an extensive pillow menu and custom
toiletries, as well as offering sumptuous spa
services creates a very h i g h - q u a l i t y,
individualized experience.
