A compound word is made up
of two words. Its meaning is
different from the meaning of
each word that makes up the
compound word.
• Some compound word or nouns are
made up of two short words that
appear together as one.
– Examples:

• The hyphenated compound noun is formed
when two or more words are connected by a
hyphen.
