 Relays are an essential part of the power systems and are responsible to control
the over/under voltage, over current, zero voltage switching and protect the
devices from these parameters.

The main function of our project is to constantly monitor the parameters to

control and protect the device, if it exceeds the value set by the user, further it
sends a tripping signal to the circuit breaker to break the connection and isolate
the fault.

All the fault will be convey with the help of Wireless communicator using GSM
device.
 Our intelligent system receives the monitoring information from the power system and
initiates the control actions required of the generic units under the control of the Generic
Relay.

The major problem in transmission and distribution in country like India is losses and most of
the time occur during uneven requirements.

Implementation of intelligent systems to protect the power system problems, has been an area
of strong research of interest in the past decades.

Intelligent system should detect fault and generate tripping in less than 1 seconds, for that we
take help of Microcontroller like PIC, CT and PT.
 The objective of a protection scheme is to keep the power system
stable by isolating only the components that are under fault.

Whilst leaving as much of the network as possible still in operation.

Protection schemes must apply with very pragmatic and pessimistic

approach to clearing system faults.

Sending system parameters to remote location using GSM.

 It works automatically.

 no requirement of multiple voltmeter & ammeter to measure voltage

& current of each phase.

 It break the circuit on accurate set values.

 Low power consumption

 High speed detection and applying tripping.(<1 Sec)

 It send pre alarm to mobile through GSM

3 phase transformers.
3 phase motors.
Lift/elevators.
Commercial lighting.
