PROJECT SCOPE
Launch survey to evaluate cash incentives to 30-40 employees in ABC Ltd. manufacturing without impacting
production
Assemble a questionnaire comprising of 20-30 questions to:
o Gauge effectiveness of cash incentives to employees and benefit to operations: cost vs. benefit
o Measure the impact of compensation on employee performance
o Determine ways to improve employee retention
The answer selection will be of Strongly Agree / Agree / Neutral / Disagree /Strongly Disagree meter
Target audience:
o Canadian mid-sized company with ~300 employees (including Management)
o Survey will include general laborers, trained technicians, as well as managerial staff
PROJECT CONSTRAINTS
Each team member cannot dedicate 100% of their time to this project due to other commitments.
Failure for employees to participate
Sponsor may reject the project idea
Project completion time needs to be within the 11 weeks of the course.
The schedule of finalizing project charter and project plan are too close to mid-term exam and final exam,
respectively.
The total number of project team members is pre-defined by the “Class Project Outlines” distributed by the
professor.
Limited resources
PROJECT ASSUMPTIONS
We assume that there is no scope creep.
The project sponsor is always available to provide advice and direction
As the major communication and collaboration tools, each team member has access to communications
technology (email, cell phone, etc.)
The first hour of each class is always dedicated for discussion within the project team.
All team members will remain on this project until the completion.
All employees will answer truthfully
PROJECT QUALITY
To reduce biased answers of the questions answered the questionnaire will be anonymous
Questionnaire will contain the general department and positions to better understand the drive behind each
answer
Time of the questionnaire is to be completed at mid-day and aim at one minute per question total.

PROJECT RISKS
Severity Description
Low Severe weather conditions (i.e. ice storms, causing power outages), could potentially delay the
progress of the class and the project
Medium Reward at the end of the survey may skew the information due to bias
High If the project team misunderstands the requirements and expectations from the “Class Project
Outlines” defined by the professor, then it could cause project failure
High If team members withdraw or fall ill, functions and workloads will have to be redistributed
High Length of survey might deter employee from making honest answers
High Employer refuse to allow staff to participate in survey
High Potential loss of data
