Newton House is a 17th Century manor house thats nestled within the rolling hills of the
Carmarthenshire countryside on the romantic Dinefwr estate.
Steeped in Welsh history, Dinefwr was home to the powerful Welsh Princes of Deheubarth
who ruled from Dinefwr Castle, the ruins of which still stand overlooking the 800 acre
parkland National Nature Reserve and Twyi River.
Today we are able to showcase a beautiful setting for your wedding or civil partnership,
offering you a choice of stunning rooms, exquisite catering and the professional assistance
of our team.
Every aspect of your special day will be tailored entirely around you, whether you want a
formal or informal wedding, large or intimate.
By choosing to hold your wedding with us you are helping us to look after this unique and
special place for future generations.
Your ceremony
The Grand Dining Room
The largest room in Newton House, the Dining Room houses a collection of historic
portraits, an ornate fireplace and grand piano. Views look out to the eastern expanse of the
parkland towards the Black Mountain.
Capacity: 90 Guests
The Drawing Room
A light and airy space for an elegant wedding at Newton House. The Drawing Room is the
perfect place to charm your guests with the magnificent ceiling designs and views of the
medieval deer park one of the finest views in the park.
Capacity: 40 Guests
The Conservatory
Like the Drawing Room, the Conservatory is draped in sunlight throughout the year and
boasts spectacular views of the medieval deer park. Presented as it wouldve been in the
early 20th century, this quaint and tranquil room is ideal for more intimate wedding
ceremonies.
Capacity: 6 Guests with the remainder of your guests observing from the grand staircase.
The Formal Fountain Garden
Exchange your vows against the natural beauty of the first Parkland National Nature Reserve
in Wales, by choosing an outdoor wedding at Newton House, in one of the following
locations:
The Porch
Sheltered underneath the conservatory, looking out over the formal fountain garden, this
romantic location with vaulted ceilings creates a stunning venue for an intimate wedding
ceremony.
Capacity: 5 Guests with the remainder of your guests viewing from the surrounding gardens.
Summer House
Situated in the formal gardens looking back at the finest view of Newton House you can
choose an outdoor wedding under the shelter of our summer house.
Capacity: 5 Guests with the remainder of your guests viewing from the surrounding gardens.
Refreshments
We offer a choice of luxury catering options between a vintage high tea and a sparkling wine
reception.
Photographs
You are welcome to have your wedding photographs with your wedding party at a variety of
locations both within Dinefwr Park and at Newton House. Our formal fountain garden,
grand staircase and ornate fireplaces all make fantastic backdrops for your photographs.
Holiday Cottage accommodation on site

Wake up a newly married couple at one of our spacious holiday cottages on the Dinefwr
estate.
We have two farmhouse style houses on site which are ideal for family gatherings or a
romantic break away.
Home Farm House sleeps up to 18 people and Penparc Cottage sleeps up to 8 people.
Suitable for groups of up to 15 we also have the Dinefwr Bunkhouse located in the inner
courtyard of Newton House. The balcony overlooking the mediaeval deer park is the perfect
place to enjoy a summers evening whilst theres a cosy log fire in the large open-plan living
area for those chillier winter months.
Complementary Joint Membership
All couples who book their wedding or civil ceremony with us will receive a joint
membership to the National Trust for the first year of your marriage. Whether youre
interested in gardens, castles, wildlife or just somewhere peaceful to relax, National Trust
membership gives you a wide variety of things to do, as often as you like, for free.
