SUBJECT:
Minimizing E075 Occurrences
This Technical Publication has been revised to remove the 2nd Inner Transfer Roller from the cleaning
process as it may negatively affect E075 occurrences and to include a diagram to identify rollers in the
cleaning process.

GENERAL:
This Technical Publication covers measures to minimize E075 error code occurrences with the
imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5200 Series.

DETAILS:
An E075 error code is related to displacement of the Intermediary Transfer Belt (ITB). This displacement
may occur over time as the machine ages. When an E075 error code occurs, be sure to follow the steps
outlined in the SERVICING PROCEDURE section of this Technical Publication.

SERVICING PROCEDURE:
When an E075 error code occurs, please ensure to do the following:
1. Write down the values of the ITB position sensors:
a. Service Mode Level 1>COPIER>DISPLAY>MISC
i. ITB-POS
ii. ITB-POS2
NOTE:
ITB-POS is used to show the ITB position when printing/copying B/W only.
ITB-POS2 is used to show the ITB position when printing/copying Color only.
Both ITB-POS and ITB-POS2 values should have an ideal value of 0. However, in most
cases, this number should be between -200 and +200.
If the values for ITB-POS and ITB-POS2 are below -200 and above +200, an E075 may occur.

2. Turn off the main power and remove the ITB Assembly from the main engine.
3. Remove the ITB from the ITB Assembly.
4. Ensure the Rear Transfer Arm Kit (FM1-K348-010) is installed. If it is not installed, install the Rear
Transfer Arm Kit at this time. See attached file FM1-K348-010 Replacement Procedure.pdf for
the Rear Transfer Arm Kit installation instructions.
CAUTION!

When installing the Rear Transfer Arm Kit (FM1-K348-010), be sure to use SuperLube
! (FY9-6005-000) grease. If you use anything other than SuperLube, the E075 may reoccur
causing an increase in servicing times and cost.

5. Clean the following ITB Assembly items using a lightly damp cloth (with water):
a. Drive Roller (FC8-4403-000) also commonly called Steering Roller
b. Tension Roller (FE4-0221-000)
c. Idler Roller (FE4-0220-000)
d. 1st Transfer Auxiliary Roller (FC8-4406-000) also known as Sub Roller.

CAUTION!

Do not clean the 2nd Inner Transfer Roller. Cleaning this roller may increase the risk of
! E075. If extremely dirty or tacky, replace this roller.

6. Re-install the ITB and ITB Assembly into the main engine.
7. Turn on the main power.
8. Execute Service Mode Level 1>COPIER>FUNCTION>MISC-P>ITB-INIT one time.
9. Check Service Mode Level 1>COPIER>DISPLAY>MISC
i. ITB-POS
ii. ITB-POS2
NOTE:
At this point, both ITB-POS and ITB-POS2 should have changed dramatically.
An example would be the following:
o ITB-POS Before = -384
o ITB-POS After = +98
o ITB-POS2 Before = -293
o ITB-POS2 After = -52
Realistic numbers for ITB-POS and ITB-POS2 should be between -100 and +100

If the E075 error code has not returned after executing the above procedure, you have completed the
servicing of this device.

If the E075 error code returns after executing the above procedures, replace the 2nd Inner Transfer Roller
(FC0-3762-000) and check ITB-POS and ITB-POS2 to ensure they are in the appropriate value range.

If the 2nd Inner Transfer Roller (FC0-3762-000) has been replaced and the above steps have been
completed, check the sub code. If an E075-0003 or E075-0103 occurs after completing the servicing
procedures, be sure to do the following:
<E075-0003 Additional Steps>
Execute the ITB Motor Adjustment as outlined in the Service Manual.
Ensure the main engine is level. If it is not level, the E075 error code will continue to occur.
<E075-0103 Additional Steps>
Ensure the ITB Assembly returned smoothly when installing it into the main engine. Adjust the
front left plate as necessary. Although the screw [A] has red markings, adjustment is
recommended by loosening the screw and moving the plate either up or down. If the ITB
Assembly returns to the main engine smoothly, this plate does not need to be adjusted.

[A]

Execute the ITB Motor Adjustment as outlined in the Service Manual.

Ensure the main engine is level. If it is not level, the E075 error code will continue to occur.
