Austin Eubanks
This session will cover the facts and myths of the opiate epidemic in our country and our local area. Erika and
Craig will provide an interesting look at opiates and how they effect our bodies and brains and why they are so
addictive. They will also cover potential solutions to this growing issue. This team brings together a wide range
of experiences in treating both adult and adolescent substance use disorders. Both speakers are engaging and
make learning fun.

obtained her Masters of Social Work at Louisiana State University (Geaux Tiger!). Erika is a licensed Clinical
Social Worker and a Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC III), she specializes in addictions treatment for Mind
Springs Health. She supervises many of the staff treating substance use disorders for Mind Springs Health.

Complementary and alternative medicine has never been so popular. Local health care providers Frank
Turano-Cutler, LAc and Grace Calihan, ND discuss their approaches to common symptom patterns. Using
a case-study format, they will review dietary changes, acupuncture, herbal medicine, and other integrative
methods and discuss the application of these approaches to mental and emotional health.
Grace Calihan, ND
Steamboat Naturopathic
Grace Calihan, ND is a registered Naturopathic doctor practicing in Steamboat Springs, CO. Naturopathic
doctors combine the wisdom of nature with the rigors of modern science. By using protocols that minimize
the risk of harm, naturopathic doctors help facilitate the bodys inherent ability to restore and maintain optimal
health. Dr. Calihan works with all patients who have an interest in taking responsibility for their health, and she
has a special interest in natural fertility, hormone optimization, and gut health.
Frank Turano-Cutler, L.Ac. has been an acupuncturist and treating in the Steamboat area since 2008. After
studying Chinese Medicine for a year at Tri-State College of Acupuncture in New York City, he transferred
to Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine where he completed his Master of Science degree in
Traditional Chinese Medicine. Tri-State is deeply focused in a Meridian Style with emphasis on the healing
abilities of acupuncture. CSTCMs predominant focus is on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Frank
draws upon the strengths of both schools, and has the ability to balance a Meridian Style with TCM. Currently,
he uses an Esoteric Acupuncture approach designed by Dr. Mikio Sankey, Ph.D. and uses motor point release
to ease painful muscles. Frank is certified as a Diplomate in Acupuncture by the National Certification
Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
