INSTALLATION TEST
Step ONE
VERIFICATION
Before starting any operation with the SAR plusCOM alarm equipment, the following
points should be checked:
An analogue telephone line is operative on the end terminals of the SAR plusCOM J8
connector (50VDC approximately)
The under-car alarm push button is placed and wired
The machine room intercom is installed and connected (if included)
SAR plusCOM DL1 led (red) is flashing Hidra bus is active
If the End of alarm contact is closed (J6-4/J6-6) a repetitive beep is heard through the
speaker

communication
On some fixed telephone lines, the side of the line that has received the call remains engaged
until the calling phone hangs up or a minute has passed. To avoid this situation, SAR
plusCOM will hang up by end of conversation time or when it receives a signal from the
telephone company one minute later
Check that keeping it pressed, the yellow light remains lit up. A few seconds later, the
green light starts to flash and you hear through the car speaker the message Calling,
please wait meaning that the call is in progress.

4 -DEFINITIVE
Once the test is completed, the definitive values that will determine SAR plusCOM
operation have to be configured: car voice synthesizer activation, rings before picking up,
type of dialling, test call, etc.
This configuration may be carried out manually or automatically via the SARlink software.
To configure manually the device for fulfilling the EN81-28:2003 standard follow the
following steps:
Step ONE
DATA GATHERING
Prior to the definitive configuration, it is recommended to write down all the values
needed. The following table shows parameters required for a standard installation:
Command
Value to be configured
EN81-28
Description
Identifier
If there are not 4 available alarm phone numbers, it is advisable to repeat them so every
parameter from 21 to 24 is configured.
The roof & under-car alarm phone number (parameter 25) is designed to be configured with
the telephone number of the maintenance company.
If there are not 2 available test phone numbers, it is advisable to configure the same number
in both parameters (26 & 27).
For compliance with EN81-28, the Wait For End of Alarm mode must be configured to 1 and
the next test call at 3 days maximum (with SARLINK)
Step TWO
PARAMETER CONFIGURATION
If the configuration is carried out via a phone call (not the intercom), just before 3 minutes of
communication, SAR plusCOM device generates some beeps meaning that the
communication time limit is approaching. Press 0 on the phone keypad to extend to another
3 minutes. This process should be carried out every 3 minutes (parameter 35).

Program the parameters of the previous table with the values written down,
following the procedure used to program the test telephone number
If the value indicated is not correct, re-program parameter 5 and check out its value
again.
#)
SAR plusCOM device includes a complete set of parameters that fulfils the operation
configuration. Its default values are considered valid for most situations. For further
information, refer to SAR plusCOM installation manual.
At the end of this document all manual commands are shown. These parameters may be
used to make the final adjustments to the equipment operation to suit the requirements of the
maintaining company. More detailed information is explained in the k SAR plusCOM
installation manual.

ANNEX 3
Besides its capabilities as alarm equipment and transmission device, SAR plusCOM also
acts as data registration equipment.
To achieve this, it includes a log record in which it stores the data relating to the alarm
process and the data received from the Hidra controller, adding date and time
information. These records, up to 38 items, are encoded according to the EN-627
standard criterion, and allow monitoring relevant events, incidents or breakdowns
occurring in the lift.
Events or breakdowns in the lift are shown in the EN-627 code table shown in the
documentation provided with the HIDRAsystem controller.
Similarly, the events relating to the SAR plusCOM equipment are also recorded. Their
meaning is indicated in the following table:

The log record may be transferred to a PC with SARLink. The nine most recent records
may be looked up manually (without the date or time information) calling with a phone
handset or with the intercom handset. Prior to consulting them, CAT protection code
must be entered.
