If youre spotting bright
lights flashing through the
sky, youre not alone. From
Taiwan to Chile and across
the United States, reports
of fireballs lighting up the
night are coming in fast and
steady. No worries, though.
Its neither the end of days
nor an extraterrestrial invasion. In fact, it happens
every year.
The annual Taurid
meteor shower is going on
right now, and we are seeing
steady activity in our meteor cameras, explained Bill
Cooke, lead for the NASA
Meteoroid Environments
Office. Individuals should
not be surprised if they see
a bright meteor or fireball
over the next few nights.

After Alice by Gregory

When Alice toppled down
the rabbit-hole 150 years ago,
she found a Wonderland as
rife with inconsistent rules and
abrasive egos as the world she

How did

Colin Hancock is giving his
second chance his best shot.
With a history of violence and
bad decisions behind him and
the threat of prison dogging
his every step, hes determined to walk a straight line.
To Colin, that means applying himself single-mindedly
toward his teaching degree
and avoiding everything that
proved destructive in his earlier
life. Reminding himself daily
of his hard-earned lessons, the
last thing he is looking for is a
serious relationship.
Maria Sanchez, the hardworking daughter of Mexican
immigrants, is the picture of
conventional success. With a
degree from Duke Law School
and a job at a prestigious firm
in Wilmington, she is a darkhaired beauty with a seemingly flawless professional track
record. And yet Maria has a
traumatic history of her own,
one that compelled her to return
to her hometown and left her
questioning so much of what
she once believed. A chance
encounter on a rain-swept road
will alter the course of both
Colin and Marias lives, challenging deeply held assumptions about each other and
ultimately, themselves. As
love unexpectedly takes hold
between them, they dare to
envision what a future together
could possibly look like until
menacing reminders of events
in Marias past begin to surface.

The movie business is
booming in 1935 when twenty-one-year-old Loretta Young
meets thirty-four-year-old Clark
Gable on the set of The Call of
the Wild. Though hes already
married, Gable falls for the
stunning and vivacious young
actress instantly.
Far from the glittering
lights of Hollywood, Sister
Alda Ducci has been forced to
leave her convent and begin
a new journey that leads her
to Loretta. Becoming Miss
Youngs secretary, the innocent
and pious young Alda must
navigate the wild terrain of
Hollywood with fierce determination and a moral code that
derives from her Italian roots.
Over the course of decades, she
and Loretta encounter scandal
and adventure, choose love and
passion, and forge an enduring
bond of love and loyalty that
will be put to the test when
they eventually face the greatest
obstacle of their lives.

DELPHOS There is an
old saying in football about
how difficult it is to beat a
team twice in the same season.
In high school football,
it isnt often the case that
you get the chance to either
sweep or avenge a defeat in
the same season.
Jefferson and Spencerville
will have the chance to do
one or the other, depending
on your perspective.
The Wildcats downed
the Bearcats 26-10 in the
annual Backyard Rivalry in
Spencerville a week ago in
the regular-season finale, giving the Red and White its
15th Northwest Conference
title (either solo or co-championship).
They will do it again
tonight at 7 p.m. at Stadium
Park, this time with a winor-go-home mentality added
to the intensity of the rivalry
in a Region 22 quarterfinal
matchup.
Jefferson (9-1, 7-0 NWC)
head coach Chris Sommers,
recently named NWC Coach

Pigskin Picks
were seeing they have lot more than
Cam. That defense has been rock-solid
all season with Luke Kuechly, Thomas
Davis and Company and Broncos
gave NFL blueprint for holding down
Rodgers.
MIAMI: Two completely baffling
teams that are disappointing. I flipped
my two-headed coin and it came up tails,
so Im going with the road Dolphins.
(See, others can have their reasons for
making picks!!)
ST. LOUIS: Todd Gurley is a young
All-Day Peterson and the Rams can play
defense with that front 4.
PITTSBURGH: I remember the
days of these rock-em, sock-em bloodbaths when they did not like each other.
Different days but methinks they still
despise one another. Give edge to a
fast-improving Steelers D.
SAN DIEGO: Da Bears dont have
Matt Forte and Jake Cutler still thinks he
can throw it throw a brick wall. Chargers
have been so close and my guess is as
they get O line healthy, they will break
through.
DENVER: This could be a trap game
for Broncos after big win over Packers
but defense travels well. Colts are having a dickens of a time getting it going
because Lucks luck seems to have run
out.

CLEMSON: Well my hopes of winning this season are slowly slipping
away as I keep getting worse and worse
at my picks (Editors Note: I am like
a yo-yo!). Im going with Clemson
because they have it more figured out
than me.
TCU: Horned Frogs!!! I feel like this
is the school I never knew what TCU
stood for last year and apparently I also
didnt know their mascot because thats
funny!
ALABAMA: LSU, coming off a byeweek, will still be a little shaky on their
feet.
AIR FORCE: Chosen alphabetically.
TEXAS TECH: As was this one.
NORTHWESTERN: At home,
Northwestern wins.
NFL
GREEN BAY: I just dont like undefeated teams, so lets knock another one
out this week (EN: Fair enough!).
MIAMI: Buffalo has slowly changed
my mind about them all season and
Miami is flipping theirs to more of a
positive.
