We will be announcing our Christmas themed activities later in the term. Please note

In Babies this month we will be getting messy with a range of resources, from paint to
dough, shaving foam, jelly and beans! Babies use their whole bodies to explore the world
around them and we will be providing these activities to stimulate their senses and
curiosity. We are very excited about the Mad Hatters Tea Party on Monday 8 th September
and hope to see parents/carers and other family members throughout the term at our
events. Join in and have fun!!
Toddlers will be focusing on ICT. The children have shown a great interest in the ICT toys
recently and the staff will be accommodating their interests and expand on the learning
taking place. The children have been enjoying the new vacuum cleaner, food, toaster and
a dustpan and brush in the home corner. The food is held together by Velcro so the
children can cut it safely using play cutlery. These toys have really enhanced our role play
area. We will be also using the musical instruments this month to accompany our singing,
explore the noises they make and as much noise as possible.
In Preschool we will be using the changing season as our theme. We will be drawing the
childrens attention to the clues in the natural environment that some trees and animals will
be falling asleep. We will be looking at, playing with and using leaves of different colours,
sizes and textures and note the similarities and differences. Painting with Autumnal colours
and making Autumn mobiles.
In preschool we have welcomed back children who have been away for the summer. New
children have started and we have had staff move into our room from other sections of the
nursery. All staff are excited about the opportunities and challenges these moves will bring
and it is so nice to see the Key-Person/Child bonds developing already.
Polite Reminders
Please ensure that your child, whichever room they are in, bring at least one set of spare
clothes; including footwear, socks and underpants (for the more independent child). Even if
your preschool child has not had a toileting accident we still need a set of clothes here for
them. There are many reasons why we may need to change a child, e.g. after water-play,
puddles in the garden, spillages at lunch or if a child is ill.
Please ensure every piece of clothing is named as others can take clothes home by
mistake.

Could pre-school parents/carers please remember to bring in a drinks bottle for your
child every morning and ensure it is placed on the drinks station. We do not routinely look
through childrens bags so bottles left in them may not be retrieved. We do have children
in the setting who have allergies to juice, so please ensure you are filling up the childs
bottles with water only please. We understand that at the end of the day it is a very busy
time, please remember to take your childs bottle home and empty their tray of their work.
