Brief description of transformer
Core
Core is three limbs type, manufactured using cold rolled low losses material. Sheets are cutted at 45 and overlapped. Depending from core dimensions and design, core cooling channels are provided. Thickness of core sheets can be 0.30, 0.27 or 0.23mm, depending from material used. Top and bottom jokes are pressed by steel made core clamps. Upper and lower clamps are connected by tie rods. Core is insulated from core clamping system.
Windings
Windings are concentric type, made by high quality electrolytic copper. According to power, application and design, windings can be foil, multilayer (single strand or CTC conductor), helical or disc. Oil ducts between windings and conductors are provided in order to assure a proper cooling.
Tank and conservator
Tank is able to withstand full vacuum. Radiators are attached to the tank with shut off valves.
Transformer cover is bolted. Active part is attached under transformer lid. Oil thight is assured by synthetic rubber gasket between tank and cover.
Conservator contains two compartments, one for oil in the main tank and the other for the oil of the on load tap changer. Both compartments are provided with silicagel breather in order to avoid oil moisture contamination. Main tank is provided with n. 4 lifting hooks and n. 8 jacking lugs.
Surface treatment
Internal tank: painted with oil resistant coating. External tank: Painting cycle according to ISO 12944-5 C3-M. Radiators: Painting cycle according to ISO 12944-5 C3-M. All metallic parts are sandblasted before painting.
Tap Changer
Transformer is equipped with an on load tap changer on HV side. Tapping range i s 33 (+4;-12x1.25%) in 16 / 17 steps. Step voltage i s 1.25%. On load tap changer is in tank type with separate compartment for diverter switch. Tap changer is equipped with separate conservator and protective relay. Tap changer motor drive unit contains circuits for tap changer control and signals.
