If there is a series of games that has probably the best music ever it has to be
the Castlevania series.
In this FAQ I will try to note the names of the tracks that have appeared in all
the Castlevania games.
This FAQ is way incomplete, if you want to make a correction or a contribution

Release: 1986
Title: Vampire Killer
System: MSX
Composers: Kinuyo Yamashita, S.Terishima
Music Rating: 6/10 Stars
Status: Incomplete
Missing: Un-named tracks.
Notes: Despite what people think, the Vampire Killer track appeared first on
the Akumajo Dracula/Vampire Killer for MSX and not on the Nes one.
Though it features the same tracks as the NES version, the music
quality is not that good, thus the low score.

Release: 1987
Title: Akumajo Dracula
System: Famicom Disk System
Composers: Kinuyo Yamashita, S.Terishima
Music Rating: 8/10 Stars
Status: Incomplete
Missing: Un-named tracks.
Notes: The Famicom Disk System release of this game had a name entry screen
that featured a new music track not used in the Nes/Famicom version
of the game.
Some of my favorite tracks are Stalker, Wicked Child, Heart of Fire
and then all of the others.

Title: Castlevania
System: Nes
Composers: Kinuyo Yamashita, S.Terishima
Music Rating: 8/10 Stars
Status: Incomplete
Missing: Un-named tracks.
Notes: A port of the Famicom Disk System version of the game, minus the name
entry screen.
Some of my favorite tracks are Stalker, Wicked Child, Heart of Fire
and then all of the others.

Release: 1988
Title: Haunted Castle
System: Arcade
Composer: Kenishi Matsubara
Music Rating: 5/10 Stars
Status: Incomplete
Missing: Names of the music tracks and their locations in the game.
Notes: Despite what people think, the Bloody Tears music appeared first on
the arcade Castlevania and not on the Nes one.
Aside from the Bloody Tears track and the Cross Your Heart track
this game doesn't really have a good soundtrack.

============================================================================
Release: 1988
Title: Castlevania II Simon's Quest
Systems: Nes, Famicom Disk System
Composers: Kenishi Matsubara, S.Terishima
Music Rating: 8/10 Stars
Status: Complete
Missing: Nothing
Notes: Eric-Jon Rssel tells me that the Famicom Disk System version
of this game is missing some sound channels if you compare it
to the NES version of the game.
I absolutely love the Password screen track, the Game Over track
and the Dracula's Castle track. Of course all the other tracks
are great too.

Title: Castlevania: The Adventure
System: Game Boy
Composer: H. Funauchi
Music Rating: 5/10 Stars
Status: Incomplete
Missing: Names of the music tracks and their locations in the game.
Notes: This soundtrack is not very good, I only like the Stage 1 track
and the Ending track and that's just because of the remake tracks
found on the Dracula Perfect Selection soundtrack.
--------------------------------------------------------
============================================================================
Release: 1990
Title: Castlevania III Dracula's Curse
System: Nes
Composers: H. Maezawa, Jun Funahashi, Yukie Morimoto
Music Rating: 10/10 Stars
Status: Incomplete
Missing: Un-named tracks
Notes: The japanese version of the game has different sounding tracks, the
names are the same, but the quality is different because of a more
advanced music chip that Konami used in the japanese version, to some
the japanese tracks are better, but I'll stick with the American ones.
Also, the Stage 8 track Dj vu is really the Vampire Killer track
from the first Castlevania.

Now, I'm only GUESSING that Traces of Malevolent Souls, Resonance of Malevolent
Souls,
and Bizarre Room are played in some of the "locked room" challenges throughout the
game.
And while I have to meet any of the whip-upgrading elementals, I'd also bet that
Elemental Tactician is the them for those battles.
