1). What is the main difference between current conventional steel construction in
India and the LOYAPEB systems of construction?
LOYAPEB delivers the complete steel building package to the site from a single
supplier as a fully finished product. This includes the structural steel, cladding system
and building accessories. Site erection is fast and simple - just bolting together the
various building components as per the erection drawings provided. No site fabrication
or welding is involved. This result in significant saving in construction time and superior
quality compared to conventional steel construction.
PEB System is highly efficient in design due to synergy between building components.
Primary members are made of tapered built-up sections and roof/wall secondary
members from cold rolled sections designed as continuous beams. High strength steel
is used. All structural elements are fully optimized by the computerized design program.

2). What are the advantages of LOYAPEB?
Reduction in project cost: Cost savings primarily result from above time saving on the
Project. This also results in earlier realization of revenue to owner on a commercial
project.
Saving in construction time: About 30-50% time saving in total project schedule due
to fast delivery and quick site erection.
Low Maintenance: High quality paint systems are available for steel and cladding to be
provided along with maintenance free service life.
Large clear spans: Buildings can be supplied in clear spans up to 60 meter,
particularly suitable for aircraft hangers, sports facilities, etc

3). Are PEB systems suitable for Indian and Overseas weather conditions?
Yes, LOYAPEB has supplied buildings for a range of weather conditions including snow
conditions, high desert temperatures, high humidity, proximity to sea, heavy rainfall,
cyclone wind speeds, seismic loads, etc Based on the ambient conditions at site and
building usage, we will design and manufacture the building to the specified
requirements.

4). Do you provide a complete building package? What about flooring?
We can supply the complete steel building including standard accessories. Accessories
that are not manufactured by LOYAPEB can be supplied as buy outs (Rolled Up Doors,
Cranes etc.) and can be included in LOYAPEB scope of supply. For mezzanine floors
we will provide the steel framing and steel deck. If the flooring is of pre-cast concrete
panels, we will provide the floor supports beams.

5). Is there any limitation on the minimum size of building?
No, LOYAPEB can provide a small car park shed to massive industrial complex
comprising thousands of square meters of covered area.

6). How much is the saving in foundations?
The saving would be basically due to less number of column foundations due to large
spans and bay spacing plus reduction in column reactions due to less dead load of
steel. It is not possible to quantify the cost savings as it would vary by type of project.
Pre-Engineered Building utilize pierced (column) beam as a general rule which results
in lighter foundation.

7). How do IS codes compare with American codes?
IS codes are of an old vintage and design and serviceability criteria are based on older
materials and do not take into account cost saving with finding high strength materials.
We recommend accepting latest International design codes as these have been used
literally in millions of PEB buildings in North America and other parts of the world and
have a proven record of safety. Each year in the US alone, about 2 Million tons of PEBs
are sold based on International codes. Also American codes are continually updated
based on the latest research findings. Hence these codes result in a more economical
and safe building. IS codes are more conservative and will increase weight and cost
without adding value to the building. However, if a client insists on IS codes we will
design and supply in accordance with these or any other codes.

8). What is the thickness of your sheeting?
Our Standard sheeting thickness for roof/wall cladding is 26G. These are available in
various colors.
Other thicknesses can be offered too on special order with comparatively longer
delivery time period.

9). How do I get quote for a LOYAPEB?
The inquiry should be sent to our sales office in your region. We will design and price
each project based on the specifications provided. We will submit a proposal offer with
detailed scope of supply, price, delivery and payment terms. On request, Proposal
Drawings with column reactions are provided.

9). Do you also design the foundation?
Yes LOYAPEB will provide column reactions and base plate details on an Anchor Bolt
plan drawing. It is our responsibility to design the foundations to support the column
reactions based on local conditions.

10). Do you provide design calculations?
Yes LOYAPEB will provide design calculations for the building, whenever requested, for
approval by consultant / client.

12). Are your connections site bolted or welded?
All field connections are only using bolts. There is absolutely no site welding required.
This is one of the major advantages with LOYAPEB, which considerably reduces the
time for site erection.

13). Can LOYAPEB provide portable type units for field offices, stores and small
workshops?
As the Building is assembled at site by using nuts and bolts, the units can be dismantled
and shifted to new locations and reassembled. We can also provide small portable units
which can be transported on trucks in one piece from place to place.

14). Economy is very i mportant in warehouse construction for lease purpose. Will
LOYAPEB deliver the goods taking this aspect into account?
LOYAPEB is ideally suited for warehouse construction. We have supplied several
thousand warehouses in India for the state and private warehousing corporations. Due
to the significant optimization capabilities of our system and the quick delivery, the
customer will benefit from cost and time savings on the project.

15). It appears that you have to predetermine all the requirements before ordering
the building.
It may not be possible sometimes. What is the flexibility available for any change
in requirements later?
It is more economical to initially design the building incorporating future requirements
like future increase in width, length, loading additional cranes, etc. This will avoid any
site modification work later.
However in cases where client needs a building modification which was not previously
considered, this can be done at any time by site modifications. However, to avoid this,
normally, consultants take a conservative approach and initially specify higher design
loads to cover for future requirements.

16). How do you quote the rates? What is the mode of payment?
We do not quote unit rates. LOYAPEB will design and price the building and sign the
contract based on fixed lump sum price. The standard mode of payment is 20% down
payment and balance by L/C.

17). What sorts of details of erection assistance is provided by LOYAPEB?
LOYAPEB provides detailed erection drawings, Erection procedures manual and free
technical assistance through visit of LOYAPEBs Technical Representative to the site
during erection. LOYAPEB also carries out erection works on a turnkey service.

18). Is it possible to dismantle the building and reconstruct it at another place?
What will be the cost of the new and reassembled building?
Yes, since the building is site assembled using nuts and bolts, it is possible to dismantle
and rebuild at a new location. The cost-benefits have to be worked out on a case by
case basis which would depend on size, complexity and distance to new location.

19). Can we have a masonry wall as exterior skin/interior partition as in the case
of residential buildings -from bondage point of view between structural steel and
masonry walls?
Yes, Masonry walls can be tied to the Building Steel columns with ties for lateral
support. In such cases LOYAPEB will design the structure with low horizontal
deflections to prevent cracking of masonry.
Sometimes consultants will detail the masonry wall to be isolated from the steel
structure which will allow for more optimization of steel building and lower cost. When
required, we can also provide beams to support masonry walls above openings etc.
LOYAPEB Building design will follow the requirements of the architectural drawings on
any project.

20). Is it possible to have concrete slabs for different floors and how is the slab
laid above the steel structure?
Yes, LOYAPEB provides steel deck over steel floor framing to cast sit in slabs. The
steel deck acts as a shuttering to support the wet concrete. The slab should be
reinforced and designed for the total floor loads.

21). What is the percentage of saving in cost of foundations using LOYAPEB
compared to conventional steel buildings?
Due to lower self weight, we estimate savings to be at least 7% However if you compare
with local method of using fixed bases versus pinned bases in LOYAPEB Building
design the saving would be in excess of 27-40%.

22). Will you provide design details before supplying / erecting your structure?
Yes, LOYAPEB will submit detailed design calculations and drawings to client for
approval prior to fabrication of the building. All comments received from client on the
approval drawings are incorporated by us in the final Erection Drawings and in
fabrication.

23). What is the minimum thickness of your Primary members?
Unless otherwise specified, the minimum thickness for built-up sections is 5 mm which
complies with ISO and AISC code too. However, if a client specifies any other minimum
thickness, LOYAPEB will provide the same.

24). What is the alternative of Rod bracing if they are to be avoided?
We can provide angle bracing instead of rod bracing when required. At walls when rod
bracing is not allowed due to access or other reasons, we will provide portal bracing as
per design requirements.

25). How do you control temperature inside the building?
LOYAPEB will provide insulation at roof and wall to achieve the required temperature
value. To control the temperature inside the building beyond this value requires the
client to provide a suitably designed HVAC system.

26). Please explain compatibility to fire resistance requirements of main structural
frames, covering etc..? Modification to existing structure - Is it done by welding or
bolting?
Fire resistance on steel structure can be achieved by enclosing the steel with a fire
protection system. This can be done by spray application of fire resistance coating on
steel members or enclosing the steel with gypsum board as per UL approved details.
We will design the system to achieve the required fire rating. To field stiffen an existing
structural member, it is normal practice to weld cover plates, angles, web stiffeners,
etc., as per design requirements. LOYAPEB can provide the required detail
when requested.
